i didn't catch any of the first period btw but these are my impressions for far of the period + of hockey i've seen.
Alex Steen should have 4 or 5 goals

Next year, Schenn's third full season, should be more telling on how that one will turn out.
The Richards is trade is looking better now because he's been Boothed (a strong case for karma)...he got concussed and has been nowhere near as good. But if that concussion doesn't happen here....meh. That's a hard game of "what-if" to play.

Blues have been dominating, and yeah, Steen has missed some open nets. Quick has been great, but also lucky. If the Blues don't win I'll be shocked.

I switched to this game from the Chicago game, because that game felt like a run of the mill regular season matchup. This is more playoffy.

The Chicago/Minnesota game has been far more entertaining than the St. Louis/L.A. game.

What are you talking about? Chicago and Minnesota has been soft. Kings/Blues has been hard hitting and awesome.

EDIT: OH ****...Kings just tied.

I don't know if it's just the concussion, or a combo of all his injuries, but Richards just doesn't seem to play with the same level of tenacity that he used to. It could be a conscious decision that he made to ensure that he can try to stay as healthy as possible, or it could be that he's just breaking down earlier than most. I really hope it's not the latter, because it would be a shame to see his career end earlier as a result of playing nothing short of balls to the wall for the first 5-6 years of his career.

You obviously weren't watching the third period then. And neither game has been soft.

Yeah, could be. I go back to the concussion because that seems to be the most obvious turning point. He was dominant on the Kings and basically their offense until he got the concussion. He hasn't returned to form since. It just strikes me as a very convenient correlation.

Maybe you are cheering for Kings, but this game has been a clinic by Blues on how to destroy a team in every aspect but score. This game has been awesome, just nee Quick to let one in.

suter is logging big minutes obviously but he's got about 31 minutes a minute into overtime. they better take it easy on him, i know you want to win but it's only game one.

It's much more relaxing to sit back and watch the playoffs when the Flyers aren't playing. This Blues-Kings game is awesome.

Dominant? No not one bit. His offense and physical skills have been eroding fast. Homer pick the best time to dump him. Id rather have jarrett Stoll than mike richards, stoll is the better player. Richards doesn't even kill penalties anymore.

I think it was cause brown was in the box. The fact that mike richards isnt even in the top 3 for sh ice time is telling.

Richards definitely kills penalties. And I don't know what you're talking about, Richards was the best player besides Quick on LA until his concussion. He looked every bit like he did in Philly.
