Patrik Berglund to Dallas

With all if the expiring deals coming up for you guys, and Pietrangelo and Shattenkirk being the priority, what would the cost be for Berglund?

With him being a RFA, he won't fetch as much as he would under contract. Keep that in mind. It's not drastically less, but still, it's less.

Top 6 center. Resigning everyone really isn't an issue.

24 mil (without using buyouts) to resign Pietrangelo , Shatt, Russell, Cole, Allen, Berglund and Stewart.

Pietrangelo - 7mil +
Shattenkirk- 4-5 mil
Stewart- 4-5mil
Berglund- 3.5-4.5 mil

That's about 21 million just from those 4, which would leave you 3 mil to fill out a roster. Technically there's "room" but it leaves you little to no wiggle room at all.

Pietrangelo isn't getting $7m, Shattenkirk isn't getting $5m, Stewart isn't getting $5m and Berglund isn't getting $4.5m.

The Blues will not have a problem with cap space when it comes to resigning our RFA's.

Berglund won't be moved unless we get an upgrade at C.

It's not something + something for Berglund, it's Berglund + something for first liner. No wingers either. D position is filled up, only first line center.

So I guess Jamie Benn is coming back to the Blues? If not no reason to trade him for anything else.

That is just flat out wrong and you know it.

But just for the sake of argument, I would want Dillon in exchange for Berglund.

teams dont have to give back players---just picks.

If you have 4 teams all do this with the 4 players St Louis will get hosed and lose one for maybe a 1st and 3rd (picks not until 2014)

This thread is about what sort of value it would take for the Blues to move Berglund to Dallas. Stick to the topic or the thread will be closed.

Blues have plenty of cap space to sign all our RFA's. MacDonald is probably gone(4 mil), Leopold maybe (3 mil) langenbrunner (1.5)... No prob with the space we already have. Our depth is on the wing and d so I doubt Berglund could be moved, if cost is the problem then sign them all and trade a winger and add Jaskins next yr.

The Blues are short at centre. Sobotka is currently our #3C and, while he is doing a solid job, he would ideally be our #4C next season. Even if we sign Lehterä, that only gives us our 4 centres. So Berglund will only be moved if we trade for another centre.

Things might change if we were to move a package of Perron+ for a centre, but until then a team looking to contend isn't trading from a position of relative weakness.

8 players have signed offer sheets in the past 15 years. But in your fantasy world, not only are the Blues not going to sign any of their players before RFA kicks in, they are all going to sign offer sheets Delusional only starts to scratch the surface of that.
