Because it's the Habs and even if we went 48-0-0 people would still say we're going to get swept in the first round

It would huge to get the first goal in the game, the confidence issue that we saw in the team lately would go out instantly.

No he's still raw and not really ready for prime time yet but he his progressing and he started to deliver big hits recently. Has been solid since his last recall and even made up for the loss of Emelin.

And who knows ? Maybe he will actually thrive in a physical PO environment.

I agree with those who are saying that this Karlsson love fest from the media is nauseating. Seriously, talk about something else PLEASE! If that's not motivaton for the Habs to shut them up, I don't know what is. Oh and pretty much all the so called experts are predicting us to lose.

personally, a line of:

prust pleks gionta would go a loooong way in shutting down karlsson.

I know ryder plays there, but he's not as smart in the middle of the ice, like these 3...

I think if we can shut down karlsson, the eller line will thrive.

Sens fan in agreement. Not crashing your party here, leaving as soon as this post is done. But I'm getting sick and tired of hearing Karlsson this and Subban that. Last I checked, there are 23 players on each team.

All I hear on TSN and other shows is how the Sens are primed to upset us in 6 games because of our slump, and how Carey Price is some huge liability. The only reason the Sens are even in the playoffs is because of all of their shootout wins and Overtime Losses. They have the least goals for out of any of the teams in the playoffs, and their road record is one game over .500 with 3 OT losses and they don't have home ice advantage, and when they are on home ice, the crowd is mostly hab fans anyway. Someone tell me how they are primed for an upset? I'm not quite getting it here.

Yet...the bruins have had an equally bad (Maybe even worse) slump, and they are still picked to rout the leafs in 5 games on almost every single show and radio station. Including TSN.

/End Rant.

Not trying to talk trash about the Sens or saying that there's no way that they will beat us. Just dont see how they are picked to upset us so frequently? I've been holding that rant all day ever since I read a string of articles predicting the Sens to beat us in 5 or 6 games.

Feels good
Y'know, this is exactly how I feel. Too many people use bias and selective memory as a substitute for actual analysis. The fact is that Boston has become weaker and Montreal has become stronger, but you'd never know it based on the many predictions that still see phantoms of Boston's Cup year, and still see Montreal's disastrous 2012. These people have to be dragged kicking and screaming into the present.

Definitely feels like the consensus pick out there right now is the Senators. Probably has a lot to do with the way the team played down the stretch because they definitely aren't getting the respect of a division winner/2nd seed.

I don't see it as a bad thing though because it will hopefully take some pressure off. I think they will win unless Anderson wins the series, which is entirely possible. Habs are a deeper and better team from top to bottom.

Nobody said he wasn't...but if an opposing teams fan comes onto our board to post something like that, expect there to be a comment or two. Imagine if I went on the Sens board and posted that Subban would outplay Karlsson. The apocalypse would rain upon me.

I think the best way to slow down Karlsson is to hit him hard, and often. Far from me the intention of injuring him, I'm talking about clean checks, but we need to wear him down the most possible. Have Prust shadow him when he's on the ice, throw him off his game and get him thinking twice before he makes a move. He's an instinctive player, so if we can make him start to think before he makes a play, we'll be halfway there.

Both should be considered for coach of the year...and both will do a good job for their teams in the playoffs...let's just see how it plays out instead of making loud predictions...

"If this goes to seven games, they have no chance" - Kris Letang (MTL won in 7)

"We're too big and strong for them, especially in a 7 game series" - Rolston (IIRC), MTL won in 7.

That's going to be difficult to do and it can open up the Habs to quick counter attacks with Karlsson leading the rush and that's really where he's at his most dangerous

I hope the Habs don't go out of their way to try to neutralize Karlsson...as great of a player as I think Karlsson is (and truthfully, I think he's a top 3-5 player in the game today) I don't think he can beat the Habs himself.

Force the Sens to try an alter their game to stop the Habs...yes, Karlsson is great...but so is Subban, Habs have their weapons too.

He's a pathetic hockey player. Might as well practice him as a forward, since anyway he's not going to play a single game in those playoffs.

This is a public announcement from Senatron:

"Hey Sens Army, Senatron Here... I'm ready for more! More hits from Neil! More saves from Anderson!... And Alfie. Need I say anything more? Not much."
