had to head out late last night in the beginning of OT (blues/kings) so i didn't see the winner until now. all i can say is wow. i mean the blues were owning them for the majority of the game and quick was great to keep them in it but wtf. what a terrible way to end the game

Damn, I never knew Steen was so good, he had one hell of a game last night against the Kings. Good to see the Blues win, as they dominated most of the time. Quick really stepped up, though, despite that gaffe that ultimately led to the OT winner.

Also, anyone else totally disinterested in all Eastern conference match-ups? None of the games look like they're going to be exciting at all.

I'm interested in all of them just because it's playoff hockey. The Rangers-Caps series should be good, though. Played each other 3 of 4 years in the playoffs...it's a fun matchup to watch.

Wild had so many chances to pot one in OT last night and couldn't. I hate the Blackhawks.

If the Wild pulled out a win it would have gone a long way with my out on a limb upset prediction in favor of the Wild...

Hate the Hawks as well.....the whole Cup loss and draft loss where they got Kane just eats at me. Then of course the whole Sharp debacle. I also hate Carcillo on that team b/c of his mouth running against the Flyers...him and Lupul from Toronto.

he held onto it for to long? LOL

I actually like the Hawks. They're an exciting team to watch and I'm not really bitter at anyone but the Flyers for that Cup loss. Everyone talks about Carter missing that shot in Game 6 but the Flyers could have won Game 1 if they just got mediocre goaltending. Too bad we had a Leighton/Boucher carousel. Seriously, go back and watch the game-winning goal.

Leighton is the reason the team lost in the Finals. The offense was good enough. The defense was good enough. The goaltending was horrible. Decent goaltending wins that series.

22 goals scored in 6 games was not enough. Pretty sad actually.
actually I need to put that thought away because its bringing back the anger from watching our goaltender play goal against Chicago.

Go watch the play. He could have scored with a tap in.

Carter didn't miss shot ,, He didn't get elevation because of Brian Campbell

It was a great defensive play by Campbell ,, Not sure why Carter gets blame

I was angry initially at Carter, but after re-watching the play, Campbell's stick (I'm not 100% sure he was the Blackhawks player) came down on Jeff Carter's stick just enough to prevent him from getting the game winner. I think it's easier to blame Carter because he's actually a skilled player (unlike Leighton), so when he missed a chance to win game 6, it stung a lot. Personally, I place all the blame on Leighton. He's an untalented hack that benefited from an amazing defense/offense in front of him. The one time where he should've stood up and helped the team out, he let in the softest goal I've ever seen, and cost us the chance to win the cup in game 7. I hope that goal haunts Leighton for the rest of his career, and I NEVER want to see him put on a Flyers jersey again.

No Crosby tonight. Pierre McGuire is weeping in a corner somewhere.

Ventured to the Pens board to see how they felt about Crosby missing the first game; seems some are more concerned that any missed games will affect his chances at winning the Conn Smythe.

They're a confident bunch over there.

I still curse Leighton's name to this day, but I think the blame should be directed at the fool who thought it was a good idea to sign him to a deal. Leighton's not an NHL goalie. He didn't put himself in the Flyers net.

They don't grasp the idea that Fleury is a question mark either. I guess they don't see that outside of the two years, he really hasn't been that good.

Don't try to point out that there team does in fact have some weaknesses they should be concerned about. I tried it, they were greatly disturbed.

I guess they already forget what happened the last time they had a dream team facing the Islanders.

My favorite response to that is them posting a picture of fleury holding the cup. They won it in spite of him and shouldn't have won it at all.

Malkin should have been suspended fr game 3

Or they bring up Vokoun. Vokoun, the declining goalie with minimal playoff experience.

They also ignored me when I told them goalie carousels/controversies are bad in the playoffs. You'd think they'd trust a Flyers fan on that, we are experts in the topic. We could all be awarded doctorates in goalie controversy.

We were on a class trip to Montreal and Quebec City (I grew up in Ontario) during that series and we were at the Expos game at Olympic Stadium during Game 7. I have never heard a baseball stadium so loud as it was when the Volek goal was shown on the jumbotron. It was insane.

actually I need to put that thought away because its bringing back the anger from watching our goaltender play goal against Chicago.
Hopefully sarcasm. 3.6 goals per game in a series should be enough to win.
