If Thursday's game goes deep into OT, should we start Budaj game 2 regardless?

Considering Price hasn't played since Thursday... he will probably be way to tired to play 2 games back to back.

Budaj only sees the net if price is hurt, or is personally losing us games.

It will never happen but it's not a completely ridiculous notion considering this season and playoffs is different than every other year so you can't use the same strategies even though I myself would play Price, I wouldn't bash the OP over the idea

You don't pull your goalie in the playoffs. That is the same as forfeiting as and not icing a team. It completely kills team confidence.

Teams usually go with one goalie, but I have seen teams flop flop back and forth successfully, although it is rare.

I don't think many people here know how playoffs work. You live and you die with your best players. Budaj will see 00:00 ice time even if we are out in 4.

The OP fully deserved his bashing, we don't have a Halak as our #2 its freaking Budaj, who plays a max of 12-13 games a season as back-up.

Don't get bent .
Budaj could very well see the net but it won't be in the scenario the OP presented. I won't talk about these scenarios it's negative energy.

The only way Budaj would play is if Price gets blown out or the game goes to like 4 OTs, lol.

The OP brings up a valid point but with the wrong subject line . In 2 games back to back does Ottawa have an advantage with 2 goalie depth? I dont think throwing budaj against Lehner is throwing away a game if a triple overtime game occurs Thursday but Ottawa would have the upper hand .

Ottawa has the upper hand with Anderson on Price, this season too.

But I'm not worried about either of our goalies.

But I'd rather play Budaj after a 4 OT game than Price, regardless of the outcome.

Only if there are enough overtime that the game lasts until the next one is about to start...and even then.

Meh, Carolina pulled Gerber vs the Habs in place of Ward. That worked well for them.

Yeah, Gerber was their #1a Ward was #1b.

Budaj is a clear cut #2.
