Breaking the Ole chants

From ******

The plan is to intersperse GO SENS into the Ole chants. This is an idea out of the Red Scarf Union - and I've seen something similar work against the Canucks.

Canucks fans chant VAN-COUV-ER....VAN-COUV-ER... and if you throw a loud "SUCKS" in there they stop pretty quick. Only takes one loud voice too.

Against the Scabs, we plan to throw in "GO SENS" between Oles. It would go like this:

OLE, OLE OLE OLE, GO SENS, OLE, OLE GO SENS.

I personally voted for ole ole ole ole HABS SUCK ole ole GO SENS, but that was voted too complicated to get 15 000 people doing it. (I hope we have a 3-1 ratio, probably kidding myself.)

Anyway, the point is, if you here the Oles starting, throw in the GO SENS in the middle and the end. Get your friends to do it, tell those you know going to the game to do it. Spread it. Please use the picture above to Tweet it or spread it on Facebook, or Pinterest, or wherever the hell you do your networking. Hell, make a big sign that says "OLE OLE OLE OLE GO SENS OLE OLE GO SENS"

So again, to make this clear:

Olé, olé olé olé (GO SENS), olé olé GO SENS.

Capiche?

Usually it figures itself out when Habs fans chant it, and then end up losing the game in the next 5-10 minutes.

Why not just let them chant it?

It's a lame chant. Most fans around the league laugh at them for using a soccer chant to get their team going. Whether they like to admit it or not it's a pretty embarrassing chant, so why not let them embarrass themselves?

I'm most worried that the Ole's will start up at 11:11 of each period and muffle our Alfie chants.

Boston was chanting you're gay...

I also predict that we will be chanting Ole-Ole-Ole when we're up by a few goals in game

We could also just troll the f- out of them and score 5 unanswered goals.

As a Habs fan, I agree with this.

Unless my team is up by 3+ goals and are dominating.

This is a fantastic idea and would love to see all fans get behind it. You could just boo too but it's way better if the whole crowd is in unison on the same chant as it will drown them out way more. So gay chant would be effective too but I doubt a lot of the older crowd would get behind that, especially if they're there with young kids.

And yes as a poster above stated, expect them to be extremely loud when we try to get the Alfie chants in.

What makes that ole chant so great? Obviously not the lame chant itself but the fact that literally every Habs fan in the building gets into it. We need something to counter it and this is it.

Spread it guys.....let's shock them with how loud we can be.

I'm all for it. "You're gay" is just lame. Throwing a "Go Sens" in there shows more support to our own team. Do it!

Yeah... I haven't heard someone use gay as an insult since I was teenager. If it isn't offensive, it is at the very least extremely juvenile.

Returning the ole ole chant while up by a few goals is time-tested. Always effective, and easy to get other fans into.

The Go Sens chant within the ole ole is a good plan but I think it might be tougher to get the entire arena to go along with. Hoping I'm proven wrong, though.

Not commenting on the frogs bit...

Seems like it caught someone's attention. Excellent.

Obviously I'm all for this. Totally against "you're gay" for what I would assume are totally obvious reasons... c'mon, we're better than that.

CH, you bring up a valid point, but I'm worried that Habs fans may not have been thinking about it before. Way to bring down the fury of terrible chants on us, man.

This is a stupid thread. While interjecting GO SENS into the Ole is actually a somewhat respectable idea, the whole notion of trying to interject into a chant that you should not even be able to hear bothers me.

BE LOUD. All the time. Problem solved.

Do you all expect there to be as many habs fans at our home games during the regular season?

Also the one thing the most idiotic about this series is that some stupid sens fans will start a mocking ole chant within minutes of the Sens taking a lead. Stupid.

Just deal with it...leave the ole chant alone and drown it out.

For the love of god please do not start any mocking chants of Ole...at least until we have the series all but clinched (Game 6 im looking at you)

Our fanbase can't organize a simple "Alfie" chant even with a giant clock to syncronize everyone. You want to try to get everyone to chant something during the split second pause in someone elses fluid chant? Good luck

Why can't the Sens record a Go Sens Go chant from a previous game, then play it back over the loudspeakers at max volume every time the leafs and habs fans start their chants?
