is Jori Lehterä moving to NA?

He is thinking about moving to St.Louis but he wants to get a 1-way contract. I think he will stay in Sibir if he doesn't get that.

WTF is happening to Traktor? It's a complete firesale. Did they overspent their budget last season?

The Blues need centres, and have contacted Lehterä since his season ended. They'll talk with him in more detail when our season ends. He has made it clear publicly that he wants to be playing for St. Louis next season, so we'll see. I'd be surprised if he is still in Novosibirsk next season.

As for the dig at Hitch Tarasenko was a healthy scratch last night because he deserved to be a healthy scratch. The blind/paranoid won't accept that though.

I know Hitchcock isn't to blame for this (well maybe a little actually), but I think people are worried about Tarasenko being treated the same way as Filatov, and eventually being ruined. And his icetime has been cut significantly after he proved that he is in fact capable of handling it at the beginning of the season

Tarasenko has really struggled this season, and has flat out looked lost at times. He has continually went back to trying to make the same moves when cutting inside on defensemen and became easy to stop.

He is going to be a special player, it is clear from the flashes he has shown, but this year has been too much for him. The adjustment to the faster pace, more physical play added to the concussion and cultural changes that must have had a draining effect mean we haven't seen anything close to the real Tarasenko outside of the first couple of weeks of the season.

The only criticism that can be had of Hitchcock is that he didn't scratch him a month or 2 ago and give him a week off. There is also no argument to be had about the line Tarasenko has found himself on, he hasn't been on the fourth line so he has had just as much opportunity as everyone else in the team. He has had 13 minutes because that is what he earned. Schwartz found himself in the same position and earned more.

He'll likely get his chance in the playoffs at some point soon though.

I think Spartak has managed to increase it's budget and thus it is able to purchase all these players now.

Hopefully some of their juniors will also get a chance next year as well since Spartak has one of the best teams in the MHL.

yes, they planned an increase in budget, but what is so special in players they signed: Quint is 37 y.o. and the Swedish guy played the Alsvenskan 1/2 of his career.

As far as they MHL team goes it only did well due to influx of all these marginal guys who had a lot of KHL/VHL games under their belt, but they are not overly talented.

Arlbrandt had a PPG season in Elitserien which is not too shabby. We have seen worse imports in the KHL than him.

I understand that he had decent stats, but there's a reason he spent 1/2 a career in Alsvenskan, right?

Well I don't know him as a player so I cannot really answer.

You should not underrate Alsvenskans though. It is higher level hockey than the VHL and I believe the best Alsvenskans teams are as good as SM-liiga teams.
