Increased playoff security

From game notes:

Quote:
HP PAVILION TO IMPLEMENT ENHANCED SECURITY MEASURES
Policy Will Be In Place for all Sharks home playoff games
Sharks Sports & Entertainment in conjunction with law enforcement agencies and the National
Hockey League, announced today that the HP Pavilion at San Jose will be subject to enhanced
security measures during the Sharks Playoff games in the coming weeks.
These measures include guests being subject to search that may include the use of electronic
devices, pat-downs and inspection of bags. Due to the nature of the process, fans should expect
delays entering the building and plan accordingly. Fans are discouraged from bringing unnecessary items to HP Pavilion events.
Individuals expecting to attend any upcoming event at HP Pavilion should be aware of the
following policies:

All guests are subject to metal detector screening, electronic wand screening and
pat-down searches.

All bags are subject to search. Only small purses and baby bags will be permitted
in HP Pavilion. NO suitcases or backpacks will be permitted. Guests are encouraged to leave all
unnecessary bags and other items at home or in their vehicle to expedite entrance to the building.

Expect delays entering HP Pavilion. To avoid lengthy delays, fans are encouraged
to arrive at least one (1) hour prior to the starting time of the event.

I've brought my Nikon in which has approx 6" telephoto lens; when fully extended, its probably more like 9. They have never actually asked me to show them, I just say its 6". I wonder if they will actually inspect those now...

Best way to end a patdown as fast as possible is to moan softly as they do it.

Yep, Sharks are warning of road closures, etc., from Cinco de Mayo events. (There's even a PSA on the SJPD website.)

Suggested to take public transportation.

HOWEVER -- the last CalTrain northbound leaves at 9 (30+ minutes before end of game).

They aren't holding up CalTrain like they usually do?

Usual Sunday schedule has last train north at 9pm (Sharks Sunday games usually start no later than 5pm, so are over in plenty of time to catch train). M-F and Saturday schedules have last train north at 10:30 (so it's held for end, e.g., OT, shootout).

This game starts at 7pm, or two hours later than "regular season".

No backpacks allowed? That's garbage. I'm a diabetic and I always like to have my supplies with me at games.
