Will update the OP and round 2 matchups in a bit.

Also, freaking sim injured Rundblad for 11 games. Not good, especially against Colorado.

BTW, thank you SJ Sharks for a tough playoff series, 2 of the five games were in OT that could have gone either way

eliminates in 6 games to move on to the western finals.

That's one frustrating pokecheck, hard to avoid its so well placed, left me to dump and chase too much. Most games were pretty even aside from game 1 and the final few minutes of game 6, including a crazy double ot game 5 to survive. Just too much to handle, especially after losing hall in game 2. Good series, gl in round 3!

Avalanche break their own hearts by blowing a 3-1 series lead, losing in game 7 by allowing a shorthanded goal with 1:40 left, this was the game winner after the avs actually blew a 3-1 lead in the game itself. ughh.

great series Phoenix, you deserve it!

After coming back from a 3-1 series deficit, the Phoenix Coyotes are able to narrowly defeat the Colorado Avalanche in game 7 by a final score of 3-2. After Phoenix took the lead early in the game, the Avalanche stormed back in the third period to take a 2-1 lead in the game. Marian Hossa (who had a hat trick the previous game) proved to be the beast he was traded to be and scored both a powerplay goal and a shorthanded goal with less than two minutes left to win the game for the Coyotes. He now has 10 goals and 15 points in the playoffs, leading the team.

They will face the Nashville Predators in the Western Conference Finals.

The Colorado Avalanche were a force to be reckoned with all series, with the ability to score from anywhere (which they did) and play stifling defense off the rush. The only unfair part of this series was that game seven never made it to overtime, because that would have been the cherry on top of an incredibly even series. Well done by Avsfan for an amazing compete level and series!

well you won the special teams battle and killed me in face-offs, think i won 3 face offs all series.

the Shea Weber vs Marian Hossa match-up will be very very interesting in the conference finals

Haha true, I find that if I don't win 80% of the faceoffs I won't win many games. Vermette, Korpi, Horc, and Belanger all have 80+ in the stat. It was a great series though, Webers shot is just unreal.

Just pointing out that I did leave this league, so Carolina is now open.

I'm just not a huge fan of the gameplay settings being used, and also I will be working crazy amounts of overtime indefinitely. Thanks for letting me be a part of this league, it is run very well.

With another 3-1 series comeback, the Phoenix Coyotes are able to hold on and defeat the Nashville Predators in game 7 to move on to the Stanley Cup Finals!

Despite being outshot 22 to 12, and with 11:45 in the defensive end compared to 4:16 in the offensive end, the Coyotes were able to hold on against an offensive powerhouse and manage a 3-2 win in game 7 to win the series. Marian Hossa went from goal scorer to playmaker with 2 goals and 9 points in the seven games, bringing his total to 24 points in 19.

With a healthy David Rundblad, the team looks to finish their run with a Stanley Cup victory against either Winnipeg or Toronto.

Excellent series by Solari. I had to play almost 100% perfect shutdown defense to keep him from scoring, and even then he still found ways to penetrate my defense and carry the play. Amazing what he can do with his defensemen on the point.

Advancing tonight. Seems like neither GM in the Eastern Conference Finals has tried to get their games in.

Series went to a sim and Toronto went out on top:

BLUTH COMPANY 2013-14 STANLEY CUP FINALS

The best two teams in the regular season face each other to see who is the best team in the playoffs. Should be a great series!

Would be great to get to re-sign phase this weekend. Guess everyone should start thinking about trades if they are gonna do some before draft, not sure if you are going to give much time to get any trades in or not...remember to set draft priority now!
