That leaves one single opening which is no bigger than a size of a puck. I hope I'm making at least some sense trying to explain this.
Coming down the right side as a righty, you have no advantages. You have to shoot the puck across your body, and then the goalies body to have a chance. As a lefty coming down the right side, you have every angle in the world available to you. That's why it is beneficial when a player can play on his off-wing, or is coming down his off-wing on a two on one or something like that.

Bennet would have had nothing to shoot at had Nabby played that play positionally well. But, Nabby went down VERY early, and Bennet ripped a good, but very tough, shot over him. If the situation was the same except Bennet was a lefty, he would have had no trouble sniping that far corner and making Nabby look even more silly than he did.

Generally a player on their off-wing has a better shooting angle from their forehand.

In Bennet's instance, though, and given Nabakov's positioning, Bennent benefitted from being a righty on the right side pretty nicely.

The Isles and Leafs are going to be exposed as teams that likely wouldn't have made the playoffs in an 82 game schedule...especially the Isles.

And this was because of Nabokovs positioning 3 sec before the shot and at the time of the shot. Nabokov left the opening there on purpose knowing it's a really tough shot from that angle. 9/10 goalies makes that same move. Bennett played that.

Would be hilarious if Redden scored an OT or series-clinching goal against the Rangers. I'd probably stop watching hockey, but it'd be hilarious nonetheless.

Nothing like a matchup with the leafs to wake up the bruins. Looks like Boston has been dominating. Im happy. I feel like the Bruins are one of the few fan bases that dont have a hatred for us. Lol

Agreed. But that was because there was an islander defending on the inside. However, Nabby needs to do a better job protecting the short side there, because that was the only possible side for Bennett to shoot at.

I don't think you can come up with an argument as to why Nabby couldn't protect the entire short side there.

I don't think you can, entirely. You put your glove up high and you lose coverage from the side of the post and from a five hole

Just stand up a little higher than he was on the Bennett goal.

Toronto was getting outshot on average by an obscene amount. Now they seem to be a good counterattack team and shots aren't everything, but at some point you have to realize they're not that good.
