So Sid lost at least six teeth, had his jaw fractured in multiple places and his tongue was ripped off the bottom of his mouth?

That's nothing. He should be back already.

TSN saying to chill about Neal since there's no incentive to bring him back into a 5-0 game.

We need to start a new stat for injuries per game, we're probably at least at 1.0 IPG.

That is nuts what they said about Sid.
How does that even happen?

Teeth driving back and slicing it or?

Not positive, but if he were to miss time, I'd put money on it being because of a high ankle sprain.

Got rode into the boards a bit and his skate caught a rut/soft spot in the ice and rolled his ankle pretty hard.

I'm fairly position that it wasn't actually physically severed off - it was probably structurally torn away from the jaw.

While that sure sounds ugly for Sid, the good news is that he seems to be almost fully recovered.

Kind of what I was thinking and hoping. Might as well be cautious in a 5-0 game.

Neal's injury looked a lot like when fleury had his high ankle sprain. His skate wanted to come out naturally but got caught and looked to put a lot of stress on his ankle. Hopefully not though and they're holding him out as a precaution.

Yep.

No wonder they want him almost fully to fully healed before he gets contact though.

But he still can't eat steak yet.

I'll bet that he'll feel pain/numbness/nerve damage for a long time.

There's no way we see Neal for the rest of this game, regardless of his condition...but waiting 46 hours to get any sort of update is going to be rough (and that update will be him being scratched with a 'Body Injury').

I'm blown away at how composed Sid was during interviews directly after the injury. You'd have no idea the dude's ****ing tongue just got ripped off of his lower jaw.

I read that the numbness is what takes the longest to go away, and even it itches but obviously they can't feel scratching it. Pretty much just have to try and ignore it. Around a year or so. I wouldn't want to go through that.

Pace means nothing. Lets see them do that over an 82 game schedule.

made of glass, slow healer, wuss, get out there, etc etc etc

Guy sat in a dark room without TV or radio because of his concussions. He was isolated and alone for how long? He missed a majority of 2 seasons. And came back. He broke his jaw, had his tongue torn off the jaw. Had 4 plates inserted and is on the verge of coming back a month later.

Yes, this is a guy we should direct our ire towards.

Bylsma is most definitely leading a polka party in the lockerroom.
