Totally agree. Torres was a force of nature tonight.

Here's hoping to that. If it was just a spear, Havlat should (hoperfully) shake it off. Gomez and Demers getting in as well would be glorious and a much needed boost. 4 solid lines and 3 PMD would definitely make games a little less anxiety producing

It's never "just a spear" when it's Marty Havlat.

As an aside, Marleau moved head of Zetteberg into the #2 spot in active playoff goals tonight, congrats.

Gutless. Is Old man Selanne #1? Or is it Old man Jagr?

Just got done watching the game. I really enjoyed that. Can't get too excited but it's always great to win game 1 in the other team's barn.

Couture came up big this game. Aside from the goal I also liked Marleau's d work on a play where he backchecked to break up a Vancouver scoring chance. I thought Hannan was going to be bad but he looked quite good there tonight, gotta give him credit. Liked Torres and Sheppard as well.

At times I felt like the Sharks were having difficulty entering the zone. Hope we get another body back for game 2.

Jagr - Selanne is behind Briere, Alfredsson and Briere.

speaking of the Active Playoff Scoring list. Gomez's next point will be his 100th. here's hoping he gets back soon.

Every time I watch Sheppard play I lament that he isn't in the line-up every night. He isn't an offensive dynamo, but he is solid in terms of possession and the forecheck. Too bad Burrish PK's and Sheppard doesn't.

The graphic showed he is 2 up... and he only had 1 tonight so, he was already up?

I think it was bieska's ballbusting spear.

I understand it sucks to get hit in that region but you can't shake it off? It's one thing if it's the regular season but it's the playoffs. I'm not the biggest Heatley fan but the guy played with a broken hand and a busted leg. Clowe played even though he couldn't put on his own jersey.

Great road win by the Sharks!

Torres was great in this game and Hannan was pretty good. I thought Nemo looked a little shakey at times. Thornton wasn't a big factor.

If there is any injury I wont ever fault a dude for not playing through its is a massive spear/uppercut slash to the nads. Also Im pretty sure a hard enough hit to them can actually be quite dangerous, not to mention the reason he might not be able to come back in the game is because they were swelling up. Hard to skate that way I would imagine....

Seeing it in a replay you could just see havlats face contorting in major pain, and bieksa sure didn't let up for a while with it...brutal.

Good news would be though, that he probably wont be out for more than a game, if at all.

Don't know I've got a nuclear deterrent when it comes to being hit down there. Just hoping its not as bad as Salo.

I haven't seen a replay but nobody has said it was a massive spear so I was under the impression it wasn't that bad. If it was a massive spear though then yeah, I agree with you.

Always get nervous when a player doesn't play in a playoff game. Then, you know the injury is serious.

It is possible that Tmac was willing to give Demers and Gomez some rest since he is confident in their replacements. That would be the most optimistic!

Lets hope he doesn't miss more than a game. Lidstrom had a ruptured scrotum one playoffs, had surgey and missed one game and was back to play.

personally being knee'd in the groin area during a hockey game, i can easily tell you that it honestly 100% hurts like a mother pucker.
