Maybe I have him getting crushed by Jenner in too fresh memory, but this guy can't be 180cm. If he has indeed grown to that, it's good news for him.

As many of you already have noticed, the CSS january rankings are out, and they can be found here.
http://www.nhl.com/ice/page.htm?id=8...id=DL|NHL|home

In november CSS showed the swedes in a separate list, but in january CSS made a list of international skaters. To make the november & january lists easier to compare, I extracted the players in Sweden from the january list and gave a "swedish index" (see below). No changes at the top at all. Top 9 is intact. Arvidsson, Djuse, Sandberg & Kukan are the standout climbers. Very odd that CSS had Janmark Nylen falling out on the january list. He's had an great season so far.

1 (-) Elias Lindholm
2 (-) Andre Burakowsky
3 (-) Jacob Delarose
4 (-) Robert Hägg
5 (-) Alexander Wennberg
6 (-) Linus Arnesson
7 (-) Lucas Wallmark
8 (-) Wilhelm Westlund
9 (-) Anton Cederholm
10 (+16) Viktor Arvidsson
11 (-) Viktor Crus Rydberg
12 (+7) Emil Djuse
13 (-1) Alexander Henriksson
14 (-1) Carl Dahlström
15 (+15) Dean Kukan
16 (-1) Jesper Pettersson
17 (-3) Victor Öhman
18 (-9) Tommy Stenqvist
19 (-3) Fabian Gunnarsson
20 (-3) Rasmus Fyrpihl
21 (New) Filip Sandberg
22 (New) Markus Söberg
23 (-5) Edgars Klavins
24 (-4) Gustav Possler
25 (-4) Tobias Liljendahl
26 (-4) Leon Bristedt
27 (-4) Niklas Hansson
28 (+3) Mads Eller
29 (New) Mattias Nörstebö
30 (-6) Andreas Borgman
31 (-4) Axel Eidstedt
32 (New) David Westlund
33 (New) Tobias Lindberg
34 (New) Edvin Hedberg

Out (29) Jeremy Boyce

I don't get why Krupic is ranked so low, from what I understand he's a great talent with size to boot.

Why is it he's ranked so low?

He's got way more upside than some of these guys ranked ahead of him, that's for sure.

Never heard of him. I like how they are ordered though.

I wonder how far Wallmark and some of the other D's were left off. Personally I have Hägg over DLR but it's pretty close.

I agree with the order of the Swedish guys at the top. I like Wallmark more than VCR from the little I've seen and I'd probably take Arvidsson ahead of both.

I'm wondering (without seeing him play) why Robin Press has not been even listed by CSS in any of their three lists? I'm guessing it's quite rare for a player in their actual draft year, with good size and nearly a full season of pro hockey experience to not even be mentioned.

What is he like as a player? Any upside?

I think that's the thing. Upside. I would say it's debatable if he has enough NHL quality skill. He's got a pretty heavy shot and some size.

Probably a bigger chance he gets drafted as an overager.

Lets see, most players on this list ^ should be drafted. Then there is always a few suprise picks, think we can expect 20+ this year again.

Well, he's born late 92 so his draft year was 2011, which means this would be his last year eligible. At least I think so.

Crus-Rydberg was #1 and #2 in pull/push strength. 6 feet and nice strength so guess we can throw size issues out the window. Now, that skating..

Burakovsky being same height as DLR is a slight surprise, no?

The fact that Burakovsky is big as well as skilled and a good skater makes him look really good on paper at least. I wonder why he fell to 58 on Button's list.. He didn't look bad at the U18's. Terrible interviews at the Combine?

My predictions (guesses) where the top swedish players get picked in the draft:

Lindholm 5-7
Wennberg 8-13
Burakovsky 17-25
Hägg 22-33
De la Rose 35-45

DLR looks more like 6'3 here http://www.iconsportsmedia.com/image/23323868 Must be that hair

And Lindholm here looks more to be exactly 6 feet: http://www.iconsportsmedia.com/image/23324053

Watching through most pictures, Burakovsky has the most room for improvement to be made by hitting the gym. VCR, Lindholm and Hägg have very thick builds already.

I think De la Rose will go ahead of Hägg, at least one team in the first round are going to be very high on him and the style he plays. I'm personally not very high on Hägg and I would be surprised to see him go in the first round.

I thought Burakowsky looked pretty good at the U18's considering he only played with average line mates and on the 2nd PP unit. I think he will be picked somewhere in the second half of the first round.

Is it only me or does anyone else feel that de la Rose is heavily overvalued?

After the most talented players, size/grit/defense become as sought after as scoring talent for some teams. DLR brings a bit of everything. I will not be surprised if he's picked above Burakovsky.
