You should not underrate Alsvenskans though. It is higher level hockey than the VHL and I believe the best Alsvenskans teams are as good as SM-liiga teams.
Filip Forsberg - did not he play Allsvenskan this season? Now in Nashville I think. Yes, he and this guy in Spartak are different.

Last year everybody was raving about donbass signing Virtanen and Kiskinen, Tuporainen...have they done all that much? them too played for the Finns in the WC and/or EHT.

Wirtanen and Kiiskinen were good enough for Donbass to resign them. Tuppurainen's fate is yet unknown.

It is unrealistic to expect these SM-liiga/Elitserien players to dominate in the KHL. They can be good and helpful players for their teams, but all the best non-NHL talent is already playing in the KHL (save some youngsters who are aiming for the NHL such as Barkov).

The KHL teams should not expect to get a new Thoresen or a new Lehterä or a new Kontiola when they sign players from Scandinavia, because currently there are no players of this caliber playing in Scandinavian leagues. What they should expect is to get players who can play in offensive roles in the top two lines or excellent defensive players (like Juha-Pekka Hytönen or Petteri Wirtanen) who make the team better.

If KHL teams want to get new superstars the NHL is the only place where they can get them.

That should be the next goal, but were not gonna give up players that easily. Maybe by quadrupling the ELC or substantially beating 1st pro contracts you can entice some 2nd round talent... Guys like Eric O'Dell. Salzburg has been successfully pulling Canadian juniors to Europe for a little while now- although to your post, they are definitely not superstar material

Viktor Fasth has only played 2 seasons in Elitserien and is 1B goalie in the NHL as a rookie, so...

And this Arlbrandt character scored more than 70 points twice in the Allsvenskan so it's not like he was just a regular player there.

Wil be great if someone could make a recap after each day and write every transfer. See where the team goes...

You can just visit eliteprospects.com, they have 90 percent of transfers so you'll get the picture.

Does it really matter where and how a player played a couple of years ago? Players tend to improve after all.

What's bad about it? Sure they miss some and are a bit slow at times but other than that's it's as good as you're gonna get

I dont want to be off topic. EP is great source for NHL, Elitserien, SM-Liiga but really bad, really bad source for KHL, VHL, MHL. Believe me. I know better sources.

not sure if the trade of tolpeko (to Neftekhimik) for Pestushko (to Dinamo) has been reported.

So dinamo adds: Karpov, Nichushkin, Budkin, Pestushko, Glazchev, Lazushin - looses Petruzalek and Tolpeko - not bad, lol

What did I say? Best swedish clubs are not able to keep their best players, goalie? They like it, their choice.

Nice move Ufa-Kuznya

ska keeps trying to buy the cup, bad luck to them

Kuznya gets two players who can play on their level already, Ufa gets a bottom 6 player who can sometimes chip in on offense, kuznya is better off by getting two capable bodies. Kuznya needs to sign a goalie (Lazushin left to Dinamo)

Finnish goalies Atte Engren (from TPS to Severstal) and Niko Hovinen (from AHL to Novokuznetsk) move to KHL.

So far as many as seven KHL teams have a Finnish goalie:

Kazan: Jani Nieminen
Lev: Petri Vehanen
Amur: Mika Järvinen
Novokuznetsk: Niko Hovinen
Omsk: Teemu Lassila
Severstal: Antti Engren
Ufa: Iiro Tarkki

Antti Raanta of Ässät Pori is also rumoured to move to the KHL.
