The Bulls have an elite coach that also pushes his own guys much, much more in the regular season than most coaches and that is why the Bulls had such a good record last year.

In the end, it is simple. They need another star player. That means making a move or waiting for the Charlotte pick and hoping it pans out, and/or the guy they have in Europe.
Mirotic and the lottery pick will be good building blocks to add to an already solid team.

A lottery pick means nothing if it's not at least in the top 5.

As long as MJ stays as owner, it will be.

This is a common misconception with Thibodeau - he may play his guys more minutes (notably Deng, and this year Noah but that was only because Mohammed sucked for 2/3 of the season), but they practice lighter than any team in the NBA. Sam Smith talks about that pretty often. The notion of Thibodeau burning his players out/pushing them harder than your average NBA coach is misplaced. He demands more effort in games but has a reputation of having among the most tame practices. The lion's share of their work is in the film room.

The Bulls rarely scrimmage - the only time they did for an extended period this year was a ~3 week period where everyone was getting extremely excited about Rose doing 5-on-5 drills.

With all that said, I do think another star is necessary... maybe. It depends on who you're getting, or more specifically, what you define as "star." Deng and Noah are two all-stars at their positions. Boozer is a top-10 power forward in the game. Gibson is one of the best bench players in the league, you have some nice depth with Belinelli, Hinrich, a good young talent in Butler. The pieces are all there. I'm not convinced a Dwight Howard (not him specifically, but a player of his caliber) is needed to get the team a championship. And those players cost a lot too, both against the cap and via trade. If you have to give up Noah and Deng to acquire someone, the team probably doesn't get any better. It might actually get worse.

Eh, maybe you're right, maybe you're not. It's impossible to quantify the knowledge of an entire sport's fanbase - it all turns out to be opinion and conjecture. Not an argument I really want to get into.

It doesn't matter who the Bulls add unless its Lebron James. I have a feeling the only team that wins a title for the next 3-4 years is the team with him on it.

Good, if we can get him back sometime in June, we can get him the starts he needs to build his trade value back up. I love Garza and wouldn't mind keeping him but I have changed my tune after these injuries and watching the Cubs more and more. We're too far away and if we can get a guy like Olt for him, there isn't any other choice but to do it.

All German Champions League Final. Don't know who to root for. Feel bad that Bayern choked it away last year, but would rather they not tie LFC with 5 European Titles.

He needs help, if he was back on the Cavs teams he was on early in his career he doesn't win anything. No 1 man team has won a title, Jordan needed Pippen, Kobe needed Shaq and Pau, LeBron needed Wade, KG needed Pierce and Allen and on and on.

I like Dortmund, like how they built their team and kept it together till now, sadly looks like the big clubs have come calling and they are going to get ripped to shreds.

I think it doesn't matter though, Munich looks unstoppable right now, they do meet on May 4 though in the Bundesliga as a preview. Will be interesting to see if either field their 1st team or bring in reserves.

Now Ricketts is threatening to move the team out of Wrigley if he doesn't get his new scoreboard/jumbotron.

Sounds like there's a good chance Ahmad Starks and Darius Paul are Illini by the end of the weekend

The Bulls aren't even close to as deep as those teams. Add Mirotic panning out nicely and a very good top end draft pick then yeah, I can see it. Still very short at the moment.
