Seems like the refs are to blame.
Your selective reading combined with terrible reading comprehension is a recipe for disaster.

Still, O’Rourke is hardly above criticism. The latest episode came in the Senators’ 4-3 loss to the Boston Bruins on Tuesday, a high-paced, evenly played game which was ultimately decided when the Bruins’ Dennis Seidenberg beat Senators goaltender Craig Anderson with a slapshot from centre ice. The Senators received four penalties and the Bruins none and Boston scored on two of its power play chances. The game ended with MacLean on the top of the players’ bench, screaming obscenities at O’Rourke and fellow referee Bob Martell.

Seems like the centre ice goal was a pretty big factor. The fact that the penalties were 4-0 means nothing. Do you believe they should always be matched one for one?

The history between MacLean and O’Rourke goes back to Jan. 21, when the Senators lost 2-1 to the Anaheim Ducks. Immediately after that game, MacLean went public, saying that O’Rourke told him that defenceman Erik Karlsson was “a diver”, which is the reason he didn’t call a penalty when Karlsson was knocked to the ice by Anaheim’s Ryan Getzlaf in the final minute of the game. Since then, the Senators have been on the wrong end of the referee’s whistle.

Reputation calls happen all the time.

In a 4-0 loss to Los Angeles on Jan. 23, where O’Rourke and Tim Peel were the referees, a penalty shot was awarded even though replays showed that a penalty wasn’t warranted.

Totally the reason why it was 4-0

Against Phoenix on Jan. 24, with Peel and Dan O’Halloran serving as referees, an apparent third period tying goal by Daniel Alfredsson was wiped out by a questionable goaltending interference call. Then came Tuesday’s game against Boston.

I blame O'Rourke for this one, considering he wasn't reffing

I love when someone who likely didn't even see the games decides to tell us how to feel about the calls that were or weren't made.

He just likes getting a rise out of people.

Nothing to see here.

What I see is you blaming a single ref for a botched penalty shot call in a 4-0 game and bad calls in a game that he wasn't even reffing. Your crying is based on 4 games, including one in which your nemesis didn't even ref.

Apparently Habs fans are above the disliking of certain refs.

You forgot the Tampa game this year, SeriousHabs.

There's only so many mistakes a paid ref can make. When it happens every time he officiates you, there might be a problem.

But you're right, reputation calls do happen. Hopefully he's been listening to what Claude has been saying

You didn't see the games. Hell, you thought it was based on one incident and we were being "pansies" ... so you decided to Google it and now you know exactly what happened and how Sens fans should feel about those calls. Nobody said he was the reason we lost anything. As for the one he didn't ref, the person who mentioned it actually said they didn't know if it was O'Rourke or Peel.

But hey, you Googled it, so you're the expert.

A Sens fan posted it. It's in the thread. There are also daily threads about bad reffing in the NHL, so I find it amusing that you see a vendetta based on 3 games.

Do you see Habs fans blaming Chris Lee in games that he didn't ref?.

Serious habs, know that I responded to you but my comment got deleted. I'm not ignoring you...
It happens. I am accumulating infractions faster than when I posted Makaveli's diving videos in the diving thread

I'll say it one more time. The Sens fan who posted it ALSO posted that they weren't sure if the call was made by O'Rourke or Peel. They admitted they did not know.

And another Sens fan said:

Quote:
The game after was in Phoenix. The Sens were down a goal, and Alfie scored to tie it. Tim Peel ruled it off saying there was goaltender interference, which was questionable at best. If you looked at this call, with the penalty shot call in mind, that's why Sens fans were pretty upset.
I'm glad it amuses you. Keep judging reactions to games you didn't see and calls you didn't witness.

I wasn't there, I don't have the facts, just heard bits and pieces. I sure as hell didn't experience it, but I'm gonna trash the other fan base like I know what I'm talking about.

Man, this thread used to be so much fun you guys. Can we go back to the puns and argument over which team is more of the underdog?

Who cares about the reffing, it'll be Montreal typical anyway.

Our PK is the best in the NHL due to how much practice we got on it.

Our PP is so bad due to how little practice we got on it.

It's a fact.

Many do. We're not last in pp time minus pk time over the last decade for nothing. Coincidentally, Mtl is one of the best. Hmmmm.

Does any hab fan wanna bet on which team will get penalized more. I say Ottawa.

Speaking of penalized...can I win money guessing which team will have more pp? Ottawa always gets less PPs. It's to the point where I'm genuinely shocked when Ottawa has more. I could make some money.

Seriously, it has nothing to do with your insane goaltending and lack of goal scorers (and lack of Karlsson for most of the year)?

Are you telling me that fast teams with a focus on possession that have a history of not employing goons draw more penalties than they take? This is seriously bizarre. Bias has to be the reason.

Must be why we got more penalties than you this year.
