What the heck was that guy thinking?

EDIT: I hate the term "suicide" pass when a guy is badly injured, but it also makes no sense--suicide implies the pass"y" is the one suffering the consequences.

Only contact was to the head.

Looked an awful lot like Ryan White on Huskins to me.

Yeah I don't see much contact with the head. Looks more like shoulder to chest. May have hit his head on the ice. I need to see it a few more times though.

EDIT: Good timing...

Galchenyuk was lucky there. If Gryba drops his gloves, it becomes a 1 minute PP, because Galchenyuk gets 2 for instigating and 2 for instigating with a visor.

(Evidence of how dumb that rule really is.)

I still think he catches his chin as well as the chest--but you're right. On that other angle, it isn't as bad as it looked.

That's a tough call in that situation. You can't blame the referees for their reaction, but it likely ended the game.

Galchenyuk?

Doesn't really matter. If Gryba had done so after Galchenyuk tried to wrestle with him, they would have had to call an instigator.

That hit is 100% clean. It was a straight suicide pass, was gryba supposed to just let him break it out clean?

The Sen's PK has been doing a really good job on the 5min major/5 on 3. They're lucky the Habs only scored once.

doubtful. I'm sure the refs would have just gave him a roughing call

Galchenyuk was right there as Gryba hit Eller

That wouldn't be called instigation
