The worst part is losing Eller takes away our biggest advantage this series.

Having two lines who could play a 2-way game when the Sens are missing Spezza could have nullified their offense. And well, it kinda did even with Plekanec off to a slow start.

Eller was also our best center for the last month.

Of course his health comes before one playoff series, so if there's any suspicion of a concussion he needs to sit. But we needed him.

That's 100% on Michel Therrien for continuing to play him so much after that. A real coach would have realized how rattled Diaz was and sat him down.
I agree to some extent, but looking at out D-corps, we don't have too many options available

has he ever accomplished as much as he shouldve by now? he won 1 playoff series against boston in how many years is it now? 8? im tired of hearing that goalies take longer to develop. 8 years is long enough!

montreal should part ways now before he loses all his trade value. i personally think he will never be a roy or dryden like so many people believe. it was a bad pick at #5. montreal were lucky enough to pick that high cause of a lottery and picked a goalie instead of a power forward. i didnt like it then and i dont like it now.

The difference between a .950sv % goalie and.a 900sv% goalie is we need 60 shots for 3 goals. They only need 30 shots.

No excuses man. It's not Therrien's fault for playing a top 4 defenseman.. who is he gonna play?

Diaz was terrible but nobody is saying to waive him. We're just stating facts. He was terrible and I hope he picks it up.

No excuses tonight for Price.

I would not be surprised to see Budaj tomorrow nite.
The only reason why I'd see Budaj in the net tomorrow is because it is the 2nd game of a back-to-back...

1) Failing to capitalize on the 5-on-3. Going up by 2 at that stage would have been huge. You can't waste a minute-plus 5-on-3 in the playoffs and not have it come back to bite you.

2) Price on the 2nd and 4th goals, and Gorges/Bourque on the 3rd goal. You can't give up bad goals, and you can't turn the puck over in your own zone.

Also the team as a whole lacked urgency when they needed it most. We've had trouble giving consistent 60 minute efforts all season and we needed our 3rd period to be our best period tonight, and it wasn't. Price, Desharnais, Ryder, Gionta, Prust, Gorges and Diaz all need to be much, much better.

Back at it tomorrow, at least.
I stopped reading after you said Ottawa never made mistakes which was all the did for the first 40 mins and the last half of the season. You must mean that they manage to let their goalie bail them out?

Trade Price for Miller. Neither player is endeared in their cities right now.

New identity.
Miller is 32 and has a serious injury history. The last thing we need to replace Price with is a goalie who might be finished. We might as will sign Tim Thomas while we are at it.

Paul McClean is such a dirtbag. He blamed Diaz for what happened to Eller and never said he hopes Eller gets well.

I agree with your last point, but Diaz was playing really bad after the incident, he wasn't a scapegoat by any means.

The thing with Ryder is even when he was scoring he wasn't really creating anything. He just has a decent shot and seems to stroll along at the right time. He gets hot and then cold.

I said before this playoffs was the year Price had to prove he could be a playoff goalie, so far not good.

it's like i always say: don't apologise, just try and do what you have to. it's over, next.
