That third goal was very un-Hank like. Less penalties would be nice. Didn't help with our start.

I got an idea. The NHL should get in-net cams. Shocked they never though of that before.

Anyway. Horrible.

Someone tell Nash and Richards that the playoffs have started.

Lundqvist lets in softies, Rangers make Holtby look like an All-Star again.

Hank was a scrub today. Made some good saves, early but if our standards is just making some good saves in one period then maybe he's not as good a we say. I'm sorry on a scale of 1 to 10, with 1 being a good goal and 10 being a softy, that 2nd goal was an 8, only because it was a breakaway, the shot was crap. The 3rd goal was like 100 on the softy meter.

Hank was outplayed.

The defense was mediocre to bad.

The forwards looked slow and uninspired and played without any urgency.

And collectively the team looks completely uncoached.

Hardly.

Shots on goal are not equal. A majority of the Rangers shots were all garbage. Where as a majority of the Caps shots were QUALITY scoring chances. Hank kept the team in the game the entire 1st period, and many other points during the game.

It doesn't help that we couldn't score one real goal. We get a lucky bounce, grab a quick 1-0 lead and continue to play like trash.

McD, Girardi, Del Zotto.

All were in full on Disaster Mode.

Can Staal please come back?

I blame the officiating more than anything. The refs need to think twice about making that call on a not even borderline penalty on Asham when its the 3rd penalty in a matter of minutes. I also cannot understand how if the puck is rolling down Holtby's back it doesn't go in. Need more cameras. Game was probably over by then anyway though.

I agree. hagelin was great tonight. he had a chance for a hat trick. That shot off the post was just bad luck. I thought kreider was good as well. hell even Torts was playing him down the stretch

Score on that 5 on 3 and it's a completely different game. Hagelin cashes in on that breakaway? Completely different game.

That third goal though was as back breaking as they come by Lundqvist. You knew after that the game was over. Was nice to watch McD and Girardi continue to have their heads up their ***es.

Hope to see Staal back in game 2. We need one in Washington.

honestly i knew after the caps tied it that the game was over. i said when it was 1-0 the next goal wins, if we go up 2-0 we probably hang on. once the caps tied it that meant we'd actually have to score 1 or 2 more goals to win, we know that doesnt happen with the rangers in the playoffs.

Way too much chicken-with-head-cut-off play from the entire team.

Overcame a bad start. Fail to score on 5-3. Soft goal by hank.

We stay out of the box and play the same way 5on5 we can steal one in Washington Saturday.

Good: Nash, Richards, Zuccarello, Hagelin, Stepan, Brassard, Girardi
Bad: Lundqvist, the refs, dumb penalties, the refs
Ugly: Holtby outplayed Lundqvist, the PP

The PP truly killed this team's momentum. A 5-on-3 and they could barely muster up a decent chance. That was the turning point of this game.

Also, Kreider is useless, I don't know what the **** you people have been crying about all year. Doesn't deserve to be in the NHL right now.

There were in-net cams installed for this game.. Surprised MSG never showed that feed, but it must of been inconclusive as well.
