We are in trouble unless Price stops sucking. Eller has been one of our best forwards lately. Big loss. Gallagher and Subban were monsters as expected. Plek, Galchenyuk and Bourque were good. Markov, Ryder, MaxPac and Diaz must play better. DD and Gionta were crap.
Miller is 32 and has a serious injury history. The last thing we need to replace Price with is a goalie who might be finished. We might as will sign Tim Thomas while we are at it.
When you have a goalie like Price sarcastically cheered by the Montreal fans in Game 1 of the playoffs, you have to think that there will not be a very good outcome for said goalie.
Maybe not Miller.
I am not sure if Price has a psych coach to work on his mental game. If he does not have one, he needs to hire one. If he has one, he needs to get a different one.
Goal #2 tonight was a sure sign of a goalie lacking self confidence. Shots scoring through the middle of the pads like that really should only happen a couple of times a season......not a couple of times a week or game.
I have been defending Price for a long time but he has not been clutch in the playoffs. His 8-16 record is not good.
The Eller play changed the game and the series. Will the team step up in his absence?
The problem with stepping up is that you have to take some offensive risks to score on Anderson. Because you can't be confident with Price playing like he has recently, you can't really take the risks. There doesn't seem to be a way to win.
Michel Therrien has no idea what made us lose this game, other than the fact that Price played worse than Anderson. I agree. It's all about the goalies. Their goalie dominated ours, our forwards and defensemen dominated theirs.
I wish our big players play big. Gallagher is always playing like our biggest player. If only we could get the same commitment from all players.. especially from our big wingers. Its the ****ing players, its not time to play pretty.
DD will be irrelevant in the playoffs, not just this one, all the upcoming playoffs aswell. I can guarantee that.
