Does it matter? I've been told only Dubnyk lets in those type of goals. That caliber of goalie doesn't do those type of things.

LA/STL is some good if not great hockey. Two highly competitive, well balanced, well matched teams going head to head, toe to toe, blow for blow, shot for shot... well, you all get the point. And after I mentioned that Penner looked slower than molasses Tuesday he's looked quite good for LA ever since. Dudes a bull on the puck.

Penner flattens Backes from behind in the corner and gets 2. I like that play by him.

Yup. I think it would be wise for us to pick up one of Penner or Torres in the off season for some needed nastiness in our bottom 6. Not to mention a guy like Penner being able to take a nasty hit like the one he took early.

Bring 'em here and put Casper on the backs of their jerseys.

If the Canadiens/Senators were playing either the Blues or Kings they would be getting eaten alive. It was like night and day watching these two games, the second game was much better hockey.

The sheer effort by both teams in the third was incredible.

Didn't see a ton of skill, pure grit.

Poor Kings can't even get a couple on Elliot. Guess they aren't going to magically find the offense this spring.

Danny Dekeyser gone for the season due to a hand/thumb injury.

Sucks for the DRW. Kid was playing 2nd pairing minutes and not looking out of place at all, even without a veteran partner to shelter him.

He's miles ahead in terms of being an NHL defender when compared to Justin Schultz - has perfectly slid into that top-4 role and was looking better than Kronwall thus far in the series.

Huge loss for them, I doubt White/Coliacovo can come in and hold the fort down like he did.

Cracknell is a UFA, would LOVE the Oilers to sign him.

Goalies, bi-polar.

He was barely playing 2nd line minutes. Only reason he was playing that much is because they have no d. RNH looked like a good fit his first 15 games too.

Nothing against the kid, but I don't get the hype.

Honestly these plugs aren't exactly any different then our plugs. Throw Mike Brown on a playoff team and people would be drooling. Probably Petrell as well.

Put some actual talent in front of our 4th line and our plugs can go out and just play the simple game that they are suppose to.

I just look at Colin Fraser, sucked for us. On LA he goes out and is effective. Not because he got a whole lot better, it's because he doesn't have to do anything other then go out and play as simple game. In Edmonton we need our 4th liners to hit, win draws, play pk and put some points up.

Diaz is sure getting picked apart for his "suicide pass" which led to Lars Eller getting badly hurt.

I think the hit was marginally harsh by todays standards. Gryba needs to make HARD contact on that play...and Im not sure there was much he could or should be doing to protect the opposing player. That being said...it was a gruesome result and Shanny might be a bit scared of the optics if he doesn't add some sort of punishment during todays hearing.

Diaz gave a team mate a pass in a bad time/spot but Eller was asking for the puck by presenting his stick and being there in the first place...so...sure its a suicide pass...but...anytime your about to get involved with the puck your supposed to have your head on a swivel, know where you and your opponents are and protect yourself.

Its a lot to ask when the game is moving fast, trust me, I understand this. There are times when guys simply can't have all the angles covered and they're going to be vulnerble.

**** happens?

Shanny can't make his decision based on optics. I haven't seen the hit in slow motion, so I've yet to make my decision. But the NHL can't just make a decision to please the Habs.

Good hockey overall last night though. STL-LA still has my eye as it's such a fast pace physical matchup. Quick makes a lot of real good saves in that game only to let in a goal from a guy that only has 23 career goals, none of which or in the playoffs.

Was very impressed with MTL, they dominated for a good chunk of the game. I have to tip my hat to Maclean though. Found a way to keep his team focused coming into the 3rd and took the game over.

Rick Nash, man do you look like a new player. That's the definition of power forward, unfortunate he couldn't get any points but he was around the net all night. Lots of hits in this one as well.

Is Fasth in for game 3?
