Nice to see Subban look like an idiot after that post body check celebration.... Are his skates ever on the ice when he hits anymore?

Kings-Blues series is easily the most entertaining thus far. Those teams don't seem to like each other, lol. I'd hate to face either team in the playoffs.
Sens are the only division rivals I want to make it out of the East if it isn't the Bruins. Sens are well coached and they have developed some good players. Any team other than the pens with the injuries they had this season would have been hoping to win the draft lottery.

I think they will have a hearing on the Eller hit because Habs fans won't accept that the hit was essentially legal (Eller with puck, hit was with shoulder and the head wasn't targeted-damage appeared to be hitting his face on the ice). Shanahan is going to have to make a video to cool the Habs and the demands for suspensions.

Eller got creamed but it was from unfortunate result not intent to injure.

yeah, TCL, I agree - Gryba was playing hockey there. I was really surprised about the penalties called on him - almost angrily so - this isn't our fathers NHL.

It was the refs calling the injury and not the penalty. It happens and now it is up to Shanahan to do the right thing even if the Habs fans and organization don't agree.

Somebody should tell Diaz to avoid setting his teammate up to get smoked.

Also think this game is a back to back because of Bell Center availability.

Rule 48 my ass lol.

The hit should not have been a penalty, never mind a suspension. Looked to me like Gryba and Eller went helmet to shield after the initial contact on the follow through? Suspect that the facial damage came from that.

Not sure if you are referring to the hit on Eller? It was Gryba, not Neil.

Posted it in the Ference thread as well, love Brown, but he has been over the line the last couple of weeks. He had two hits that could be suspension-worthy, the one at center ice where he stuck out elbow and knee and connected with the leg, and also the elbow in front of the net.

Let's see if the NHL has any balls and actually suspends Brown? I doubt it, given that he would have to get 3-4 games as a repeat offender.

Hey, your location says Farhaven, not sure if this is an actual place or, like I once did, live in a little burb called Barrhaven outside of Ottawa that at one time was nothing but a few houses and waaaaay outside of the city?

I don't see the problem? I mean.. if Eller was clinging to life in a hospital bed then, yeah.. bad form.

But it's hockey baby.

I think the Montreal ice should be suspended for the rest of the playoffs for an equal and opposite reaction which clearly targeted the head of Lars Eller.

Diaz should be ashamed of that pass, keep your stick on the ice, keep your head up and NEVER pass up the middle were essentially the first 3 things my coaches said to me when starting to play

If you are talking about the call on Souray, it was pretty blatant. I am pulling for ANA in the series, but not sure how the ref could ignore it. Souray and Abdelkader (I believe) were battling in front and then Souray winds up from left field and hacks him, and the ref is 10 feet away.

Just a stupid, undisciplined play on Souray's part after the Ducks had battled back.

I disagree with you and agree with the writer.
I think they could have chosen something other than that.

I hate the Habs as much as anyone - but what about Ellers Mom? What about the family? Is this not perfect "locker room board" stuff? I know if I'm Montreal - that picture and headline is going on the board.

No class what so ever shown by Sun media. Not surprised.

So are you agreeing with the guy complaining about the cover? I don't follow his premise - it doesn't appear that it's "celebrating" the hit, rather stating that the Sens took round one in what appears to be shaping up as a nasty series. It does what a tabloid cover is supposed to do - grabs your attention - but IMHO it's not crossing the line.

that ****ing moron shanahan will probably suspend Gryba too and send a message that suicide passes are cool now.

It's always someone else's fault.

I don't think he will, just MHO. The officials reacted to the aftermath - it happened so fast it takes repeated viewings to see what happened - but the consensus (outside Montreal, undoubtedly) seems to be that it wasn't illegal or malicious.

A hearing is appropriate considering all the hoo-ha, but a hearing doesn't mean he's guilty.

Just watched the 3rd period of the Blues/Kings.

Blues are a team of destiny this year.

The Blues should send thank you letters to Quick is what they should do. Obviously LA loses these games sooner without him, but talk about choking. Those are two of the worst game-ending goals I've ever seen.

Did I really see an NHL team wheel out a stretcher for a guy on his knees?

Is there any end to the degree of manliness the Canadiens will attempt to strip out of this sport?

They were my Western Conference dark horse team last season, I have no clue why but I`ve always liked the Blues over the years to a certain degree, great appreciation gained during the Foderko era
