Per DET broadcast, D Danny DeKeyser suffers broken thumb and is out for year. He was playing very well. Awful luck.

Good news for Anaheim

i think its hiller....i may get harped on for this but, i dont care how good hiller was down the stretch, those first 2 goals were killers...you have to make that 1st save, the 2nd goal wasnt bad but at that point you have to come up with the save...i thought we came out rolling in the 1st and bam were down by 1....then we start to get momentum and bam were down by 2...didnt like that franzen PP goal and i believe you win as a team and lose as a team, but damn that 1st goal turned out to be huge...we should have won this game

He made plenty of big saves to keep Anaheim in the game.

If a goalie gives up 5 goals that are all quality chances for example, should he still get blame? I'd say 4 of the goals were quality chances
The first goal he has to save. Same thing with the 4th goal. He did not play well at all. He played average. He absolutely deserves some of the blame. You're in denial if you don't think so. It's not all his fault obviously but people should stop acting like he played good

But it does lessen the blow of this game, as I think he's been their 2nd or 3rd best Dmen so far. And Detroit's other D options are terrible.

Hiller was not to blame for the loss. But just as I've said before, neither is he making the saves that ever steal us a game. Some of those shots tonight were stoppable even they were caused by **** ups by somebody else.

Guys, I'm not saying Hiller was the problem. I'm saying his position in net should be re-evaluated. I'm all for giving Fasth game 3. After all, Fasth had the better overall season, you know...

How about a great positive from this game. I think we finally found the correct line ups.

Palmieri-Getz-Perry
Etem-bonino-Teemu (can put maroon in as well)
Ryan-Koivu-Cogs(my new favorite line-Gives Ryan more room to move)
Beleskey-Steckel-Winnick

Also, i think you will see Sbisa in for someone next game

Sucks to hear about Dekeyser (good for the Ducks). I don't hate it if it happened when he went For the head on Teemu lol.

The 4th goal isn't all on Hiller. Hiller might have SOME of the blame, for not using the stick but it's mostly on Winnik for a soft defensive play, he should be getting right across and stopping the forward going into the blue paint, not sticking his stick out in hope.

He was solid, without being spectacular. And considering he was great in Game 1 there's no way Hiller should be dropped.

This was a team loss tonight... Hiller made some great saves, but overall... I think he had an avg game at best.

Start Fasth in G3.

Datsyuk was 71% in the faceoff circle.
Koviu was 69%
Getzlaf sported a 18%

When Koivu retires, this team will have the puck even less then they do right now.

damn we looked good though when we pounded the crap out of there D....took pucks and drove to the net...and crashed the net....we dominated when we got in on the forecheck and we can win this series if we continue to do that

Seems to be a problem for both our goalies, using their goalie sticks to prevent plays similar to that.

BB should have moved him up with Getzlaf and Perry earlier. the RPG line isn't that effective anymore. Palms is much better fit there

Yep. Once the team started moving their feet they looked great. If they can do that in a 60 minute effort then I'm feeling good for the series.

Yep. Fasth has had problems with it as well for sure.

As much as Hazy can be a homer at times, I feel he gives really good analysis on Goalies (even if he's bias at times), it's something he's noted in a lot of broadcasts this season.

Now to get the Goalie Coach to work on it

Just got home. Tying it lessens it a tiny bit for me but still want to drink this one off. Those damn period starts, don't see that happening in the next game. More like, better not.
