They do still have the speakerboxes. My immediate guess, without doing any research whatsoever, is that Backyard Bistro is also where the official draft party would be.

Not only is that too crowded, but it's not hipster enough for us superior HFBoards fans. I'll pass.

I would think the official party would be at a Carolina Ale House since that's where they do the Canes Cool Bars for away games

Yeah that's what I'm thinking as well, though last year they did it at a Rudino's. I'll wait til they do the announcement on where for that before I decide on ours. I don't mind the big get-together stuff that the Canes do but sometimes it's just too big. And for something like the draft where we're going to be there for multiple hours without there being an actual game going on doing it at another location is an option.

Backyard Bistro could work if that's not where they do the Canes official draft party. Those speaker tables are probably the best thing out there to make sure we hear what's going on as long as they're working properly.

Totally down for Backyard Bistro if it's not where the official party's at. Speakerboxes are great, especially if we can get there early enough to get one of the huge tables right near the projectors.

A-frigin-greed. The food there has gone downhill big time over the last decade or so. The beer selection and occasionally the scenery are the only two reasons to go there. Hoping that the Canes say it's at the Ale House or one of the Rudinos for that reason.

Bistro sounds like it's getting a pretty solid approval rating here if that's not where the Canes have the official draft party.

It's a good time. Take photos, sit near the prospects and cut up a bit with them if at all possible. Nothing beat joking with Ladislav Smid back in 04.

The Canes official draft parties have been at Rudino's off Edwards Mill for the past several years, I doubt they change it.

2012: http://hurricanes.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=635159
2011: http://hurricanes.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=564950

and I'm nearly positive it goes back at least 2-3 more years from that.

Just to throw out another alternative even though it seems everybody is onboard with Backyard Bistro, Tobacco Road could be an idea - they can accommodate groups. Somebody would have to call and ask though if there's a charge to rent a room or something even if food is done non-catered.

I will most likely be at the Checkers draft party where ever in Charlotte.

If it wasn't 3 hours to up there, I would be game.

This sounds like fun... I have no idea if I'll be able to go, but if I can I wouldn't mind being a part of it!

Online auditions for AI has made it much easier for me to come to the draft party. Looking forward to it.

Was still looking at Backyard Bistro. I have the day off tomorrow for the first time in a while so I'll give them a call and make sure it's cool but it should be fine. It's a 3PM start anyway so it's not like they'll have to open early for us.

They seemed cool with it when I talked to them last month but we didn't have a start time for the draft at that point yet.

You probably know this already but those of you in our part of the state that don't know, Queen City Q is hosting their draught for the draft again.

Won't be there. Will be following the draft online on the plane from Las Vegas to Ft. Worth.
