So, are we doing anything for tonight's game? Kind of short notice. Good thing is every bar in the DC area will have the game on.

Either 51st State, World of Beer or some bar by the Verizon Center (RFD, Redline, Iron Horse).

So indecisive

I did not know they were open to the public.
I guess they are?
What times and do they sign autographs?

I just read another tweet from stevezipay and he said that he was misinformed. Rangers will be practicing at the Verizon Center, which is closed to the public.

Sometime tell me otherwise please.

Ugh that sucks. But yea they signed autographs last year at kettler. Prust missed signing a kid's hat and people were shouting at him and he came back down the corridor to sign it... real nice move.

where's the tweet?

edit: judging by the stream, they are at verizon center... boo

Tickets for tonights game as low as $50 on CL ...damn

You're going to get lower prices in DC for weekday games. People can't get to the game in time/work late, and Rangers fans generally can't make the trek from NY; so they end up having to sell them with a much lower demand. On game day, a huge number of sellers lower their prices significantly in order to make sure they don't take a big loss on them. Wouldn't necessarily expect prices like that for Saturday. Just FYI for the future.

Also, I'll be there tonight with a buddy who will be at his first NHL playoff game. LGR!

Yea, I know I've grown up here... but 50 is real cheap.

Would have liked a different outcome, but besides that, good. It is a nice stadium, with a pretty good setup for food/restrooms. We had nosebleed seats, and enjoyed the fact that we ended up being right below Sam and Joe!

Since it was a weeknight game, there were fewer Rangers fans than at other games I've been to. But there were still some pockets of us sprinkled throughout the stadium. My buddy and I happened to end up in a small group of NYR fans just by a happy coincidence. I'd imagine Saturday you'll get quite a few more though since its a weekend game - every weekend game I've been to you see way more blueshirts.

Caps fans are typically one of the classier fan bases out there and don't generally jeer or chirp away team fans. The worst you'll get from most of them are friendly digs at you, which are all in good fun. But of course, with any fanbase, you'll have the complete dbags who are either way too drunk or just enjoy going out of their way to try to start ****. If you just ignore them or brush em off, they're pretty harmless - and they are the exception. Other Caps fans often actually look down on that type of behavior and discourage it. Had several of them actually apologizing for some guy's behavior and saying stuff like "He doesn't know what hockey is all about."

If you're going Saturday, should be a good game and a good time.

As said, we can do a meet up in Clydes (right next to it), or RFD is pretty good/near, DC Chophouse is also pretty good.

In my experience it did not used to be this way. Caps fans used to be one of classless bases out there going out of there way to act like "Philly" fans in a kid-like manner.

I thought it sounded like there were 1000 or so Ranger fans, as I thought I heard some faint "Let's Go Rangers" chants.

Yea... I went to a few of their games several years ago and it wasn't quite as accepting, if you will, of an atmosphere. Even then though I didn't think it was so bad.

I guess having lived in Philly and Boston, going to professional sporting events in both cities, and cheering for NY teams has conditioned me to this type of stuff.

There's plenty of classless fans that still go to the games, who chug down MLs and BLs and go to the game because it's the 'place to be scene.'

But i will agree I think it's gotten a tad better the last couple years. A few playoffs series ago when we played the Caps and I think it was Varlamov who was a suprise start, not one Caps fan around us in the 400's knew who he was, knew he was playing, nor could say his name

For anyone that isn't going to the game, I'll be at World of Beer in Arlington hopefully around noon. The audio will be on and the good beers flowin!
