Anyone want to take a crack at the game 2 lines, without Sid or Nealer? Here's my best guess:

Kunitz-Malkin-Iginla
Bennett-Jokinen-Dupuis
Morrow-Sutter-Cooke
Glass-Adams-Kennedy

Hopefully Juice is good to go.

Don't get me wrong: Jokinen has been great for us, but I really believe Jeffrey can bring everything he does (except maybe quite the face-off prowess) and perhaps even more, because Jeffrey is a better pure playmaker, bigger and a better skater.

The drop-off between Neal and TK, however, is much bigger, but I do believe TK will be revved up and capable of adding some offense/tenacity/speed to that 4th line, and I think the putting those 2 guys in if the others can't go still gives us a much better team than the Islanders.

One other option, if Orpik was ready to go: I would have no problem putting Engelland/Bortuzzo/Despres on 4th line wing and/or dress 7 Dmen, just in case of injury/ejection to one of our Dmen, but we all know that ain't going to happen. That idea should have been experimented with in the regular season to gauge success before trying it in the playoffs.

...are you serious? I think it's quite clear now that Jokinen will have this "hot streak" of his till the end of this season, so it would be ridiculous not to use him. That is, if he didn't get a serious injury just now in the game 1.

Obvious sarcasm.

Face offs aside, Jokinen has two less goals this year than Jeffrey does in his whole career. And thats with him having problems in carolina. Not to mention jokinens playoff experience. Was great for Carolina during their run to the ECF ....thorn in Boston's side. Their fans still hate him.

So yeah, not serious.

I'd rather stick Duper at centre if Jokinen is out rather than put in Jeffrey.

Kunitz - Malkin - Iginla
Morrow - Dupuis - Benett
Cooke - Sutter - Kennedy
Glass - Vitale - Adams

Jeffrey if Vitale's still injured.

I think this is what happens IF no Sid, Neal, or JJ

If Sid is back, I think it will be him with Duper and Iggy and Geno with Kunitz and Bennett.

I had thought that maybe it would be Sid with Kunitz and Duper, but I think DB finally accepted neither Neal nor Iggy should play LW.

No. Potash tweeted out the first powerplay unit and then 15 minutes later that practice appeared to be over.

With no Neal and Malkin:

Kunitz - Sid - Iginla
Bennett - Sutter - Dupuis
Morrow - Juice - Cooke

And double shift Sid with the mighty Adams and Glass?

Honestly I think they should start dressing 7 D if Orpik is out long term.

I think if Neal and Malkin are both out, dressing 7 D is definitely a good idea. I don't think Malkin will sit tomorrow though, if he does:

Kunitz-Sid-Iginla
Morrow-Dupuis-Bennett (line was great together)
Cooke-Sutter-Jokinen

and 2 of Glass, Adams, Vitale, and Kennedy

Love those lines w/ no Malkin or Neal. I think I'd dress Adams-Vitale-Kennedy there. Good faceoffs, lots of speed, can be a headache on the forecheck.

Why are people posting lineups sans Malkin? Is he ruled out for tomorrow?

Oh yeah, sure, because I wait with anxious anticipation when those absent guys return and the lines are this:

Kunitz-Crosby-Dupuis
Iginla-Malkin-Neal
Morrow-Jokinen-Cooke
Glass-Sutter-Adams

God, I hate Bylsma. I really do.

He's not slow enough to play on Byslma's fourth line. Prerequisite seems to be you can't beat Hal Gill in a foot race.

You can't have too much offensive skill too. We wouldn't want our 4th line contributing any bonus goals or momentum. That would be cheating.

It's kind of sad, isn't it? Considering the kind of firepower he's got at his disposal, the 4th line he dresses every night has to be the absolute worst in the entire NHL.

Think about the idiocy of this for a moment. He's sitting a former 20 goal scorer (Kennedy), a 1st round pick who is arguably the third most creative forward on the team after Sid and Geno (Bennett), and the prototypical 4th line center who adds speed, faceoff ability, and a non stop motor (Vitale) in favor of two guys who likely would be healthy scratches on every other playoff squad.

Shero has literally given him the pieces to have a 4-line team that is a threat to score every single shift, but Bylsma is intentionally choosing to ice an inferior club because ... ?
