What is it about Canadiens fans that makes them such big homers?

I've never seen a fan base get so up in arms about every single thing. Their crowds boo for any contact by the other team that doesn't result in a penalty, whine when a good call is made against them, and defending their players to the end no matter what they do.

I understand all fanbases are like this, but Habs fans are definitely the worst of the pack by a far margin. Is it because a lot of them are raised with inferiority complexes since the rest of canada doesn't like them?

We need to get some else in there that hasn't been hit in the head too many times.

I honestly thought the Brown missed attempt at a knee to knee/elbow to the head was more suspension worthy than that hit.

I think two games is fine. For the sake of player safety, the guy making the hit needs to be responsible for not making violent contact with the opponent's head.

Maybe his own teammate should take a course in player safety..that pass was a suicide pass. I've experienced those before and somehow survived...

The initial contact was a shoulder to chest. His shoulder rode up and eventually got him in the head. If anyone is to blame its Eller's dumb *** teammate that made the pass to him.

It was a bad result but that doesn't mean a suspension should follow up. I understand the call on the ice because of it being in fast time but in slow-mo that was a clean hit. You can't suspend players just because of injury.

This is good for US viewers. Fox Sports I am pretty sure is trying to compete with ESPN and will have a similar show to sportscenter IIRC.

There's no way it was shoulder to chest. It was shoulder to head and Eller was out cold before bouncing his own head off the ice. Watch the replays, specifically the ice-level shot from behind Diaz.

I don't know what to tell you then. Almost every analyst disagrees with you.

And, I assume, Brown got a big fat zero because he failed at implanting his elbow in Schwartz's frontal lobe.

If his name was Drew Doughty or Duncan Keith, he doesn't even get a hearing.

Shannahan is a joke, but that was cemented years ago.

Tocchet: Disagree with Shanahan !!! Love him as a player but disagree with his explanation . A clean hockey hit is not reckless , it is what makes

Chest riding up into head is clean by the book. Doesn't help that Gryba is a little bigger and Eller was kind of hunched to receive the pass.

As a Canadian, this is so depressing.

Flare for the dramatic. One of my current roommates is basically French Canadian, I've met his parents too. They're like that, the way they are at games matches their personalities well. Its hard to explain though.

The head was the PPOC and other contact was incidental. Makes perfect sense to me.

We can totally pawn Briere off to the Isles. Even I could sell Briere to Snow easily, "At the age of 34, Briere has had a ton of playoff experience and has been the highest scoring player in the post-season for the past decade. Briere can bring leadership, post-season scoring, and experience to your young Islanders team that desperately needs that experience, which was made evident in last year's playoffs. Briere is a veteran player guys like Tavares, Moulson, Okposo, and Grabner can learn from about how hard you need to compete in the post-season and how deep you need to dig to win games."

Boom. Briere becomes an Islander.

There is absolutely no way we'd be doing worse than the Isles.

Edit: Oh, are we saying boom now?

Boom.
