Hey...that's what we do here. Make unrealistic player trades, and then when the GM cannot do them all, complain about how crappy a GM we have.

Get with the program!

Leafs fan in peace, but there's no real reason for the Leafs to do this trade. Kulemin is a great 2-way player who can play on pretty much any line and the draft picks won't help us for 2+ years if at all.

Might be a wee bit over the cap but the Oilers wouldn't get pushed around on the ice anymore.

Lets try this:
Hall; RNH; Jagr
Iggy; Ott; Yak
PRV; Horc; Jones
Orr; Boyle; Brown
Smyth

McDonagh; J. Schultz
Tyutin; Petry
Smid; Potter
Fitztric
Duby; Khabi

Rumors before that Jagr would sign in EDM so I would sign him to a two year deal. Huge body and still has a lot of skill.
Iggy I hope that he wins the cup this year and then sees the changes and signs a 3 yr contract.
Ott I traded with BUF for Harti; Lander, they are kind of rebuilding so I figure it is a pretty fair deal or I put ANA's 2nd round pick in there
Tyutin I traded for Gagner.
McDonagh and Boyle came from the NYR for Eberle, N.Schultz, and Musil.

Our team is bigger at the fwd position and harder to play against. The defense is also bigger with more puck moving. With our centremen we have we are better at the dot so will allow our fwds to start with the puck more often.

Whether we get Monahan, Nich, Lindholm or Nurse this line up gives them time to develop as well as the rest of our prospects.

Iggy sold his house in CGY and I am hoping that from winning the cup he is happy to stay close to home and see that this team would be competitive.

What ever happens to this team in the off season we can not start the season with Hemsky and Gagner on this team. We need size and grit.

Out of RNH; Eberle; Gagner; Hemsky, and Yak, two of these players have to go. I say Gagner and Hemsky, we need some size down the centre and Gagner gets pushed off the puck too easy. A lot of his points this year were give me points. He really cooled off when we really needed the points.

Hall - Gagner - Yakupov
Hartnell - RNH - Eberle
MPS - Horcoff - Horton
Torres - Gordon - Brown
Lander - Hairtikanen

Hainsley - Ference
Smid - Petry
Schultz - Schultz
Teubert

Dubnyk
Khubodin

Hartnell is acquired thru trade. We sign Horton, Torres, Gordon, Hainsley, Ference and Khudobin. Every UFA from last season is gone. Smyth retires. Traded are Belanger, Hemsky and Potter as well as the rights to Peckham and Omark. Pretty much impossible that we sign that many UFA's, plus no idea what the asking price for Hartnell would be. Was trying to keep it almost realistic.

Can you afford to keep him? Kadri, Franson, Kostka, Fraser, Komarov, McLAren, Orr, MacArthur, Bozak and Gunnarsson need new deals. Some are UFAs, some are RFAs. Either way you need $$, especially if first round doesn't go well. Luongo? Gardiner, Kessel, Dion, Frattin, McClement, Scrivens and Reimer are a year away. That's a lot of contracts. Draft picks can be traded for other assets. Kulemin is an UFA in a year also, so losing a year of Kulemin for 2 draft picks isn't such a bad deal. But whatever, its all for fun.......

I don't see why we can't afford to keep him considering we have 19 mill in cap space. Not to mention the team would sooner let go of Kostka, McLaren, Orr, MacArthur and probably Gunnarsson before Kulemin was put on the block. Obviously things can change, but I think management views him as a piece they'd like to keep going forward. Also, if Grabovski keeps his mediocre play going, I wouldn't be surprised to see him get amnestied which clears up 5.5million in cap space.

And yeah, it's all good fun You guys are the only ones discussing trade possibilities now, so I've been lurking on your board a bit in between Leafs game days

We have to remember that RNH will be in the line up maybe at the beginning of the December. IF we do not get second line center we will not see post season 2014

Draft Sean Monahan, give him a year in junior
Do whatever is needed to get rid of Smyth and Belanger
Resign Mark Fistric for 1 year
Sign Dustin Penner for 1 year
Sign Brian Bickell for 2 years
Sign Ron Hainsey for 2 years
Trade Sam Gagner+2014 1st for Keith Yandle
Trade Ales Hemsky+2nd for Marcel Goc and Peter Mueller, FLA needs to hit the cap floor anyway
Trade N Schultz for Michal Neuvirth

Hall-RNH-Yakupov
Penner/Paajarvi-Mueller-Eberle
Penner/Paajarvi-Horcoff-Bickell
Hartikainen-Goc-Lander
Brown

Yandle-J Schultz
Smid-Petry
Hainsey-Fistric
Potter

Dubnyk
Neuvirth

Mueller can be a stopgap for Monahan, move him to the wing when Monahan is ready for 2nd line duty. If he can bounce back to pre-injury form, we got a steal. Keep Lander on the wing for now, but give him ~5shifts per game at center and allow him to develop faceoff skills etc. Neuvirth gives us a goalie to battle Dubnyk for #1, since Holtby is the clear #1 in Washington.

Come on guys, there is no way this team can win with having Gagner as our 2C, and do you guys think that players like Horton and Clowe will sign here in EDM. Horton will stay out East as he is from the ON region. Clowe will be looking at a contender to sign with.

I like this but how'd we get Lucic without giving up Gagner +? How did we get Yandle and Ott?

Buy out Horcoff and replace him with a much cheaper 3rd line C and we're in business..
