It seems like mason is actually listening to the coaches and its paying off. He's getting here a month before training camp to work on things more. I have no doubt he will be our number 1 just as has been said what happen when he eventually faulters? If he is able to handle that and playoff hockey which is a big if we may actually have a 25 yo franchise goalie! And if that is the case homer will have swung things back into his favor even though I think they should have never really left

Holmgren is probably the BEST GM in the league at ....fixing his own mistakes

I don't understand why people are saying that Mason pushing/challenging Bryz is a good thing. I thought Bob doing that was part of why he sucked last year?

Make up your minds, people!!!!!

Holmgren doesn't make mistakes. Either they are good/great moves or they are "in hindsight" and he cant be criticized for those

I agree with you on what happens if Mason pushes Bryzgalov. If Mason beats him out for the starters job, the Flyers' dressing room will be a mess with Bryz being unable to handle not starting. Not a good situation.

Add to that the problem that him and Lavi presumably don't see eye to eye and yes it's a recipe for discord...

Really depends on how much support there is for Bryz among his teammates. If Mason's clearly outplaying him I don't see where too many guys would have an issue, and if Bryz himself pouts it may not matter all that much; if he sucks and loses his job he won't be a $5M backup, he'll be amnesty'd.

Has this team tried playing without a goalie?

I'm not yet buying that. Too much deja vu. Player the media dislikes gets accused of clashing with the coach by the media? Seems to be a pattern here.

Watching the Craps/Rags game and I'm scratching my head.

How come nobody alerted me to how bad the NY and Wash D are? Breakdowns galore.

Yet the game is still 0-0.

that cant be true. because if there was that many breakdowns it would result in goals. because if Bryzgalov cant save those breakdowns nobody can.

I was hoping that we will get a reprieve from Bryz bashing till October. Oh well, let's continue beating the dead horse.

I have been in hiatus since our season ended.

Its been building.

Its only a matter of time till my yearly "When will Bryz get benched?" thread appears.

guess Lundqvist wasn't out far enough, or square to the shooter on the OT goal

Criticizes the best goalie in the NHL but doesn't criticize the worst goalie in the NHL.

Yes, let's criticize the guy who had just put up an amazing performance and allowed a goal on a shot he couldn't have possibly seen because of the way it snuck through his teammate, yet spend two seasons absolving Bryz from all errors.
