Every ****ing year under Torts, more so than under Renney who everyone hated, the team with no matter how much talent they have comes out and looks completely inept offensively in the playoffs. Just utter garbage. Can't score, can't get any pressure, can't get any chances. Either Sather is getting good players that are playoff chokers. Or Torts is a terrible ****ing coach.

Ill take hate from all the Boyle lovers but anybody who watches/knows hockey sees that mac's penalty was a result of his inability to play hockey. the puck was sent from a D to his tape into the neutral zone... instead of easily handling that pass (that again, was on his tape) and dumping it into the corner, it rolled off after hitting his blade and went right to the caps Dman who put the puck right back into the nyr zone... shortly after mac lifted the puck over the glass.

bad play by mac. boyle sucks ****. that is all.

Torts only trusts certain guys and thats a major problem with him. If he had more trust in other guys it would probably have a positive effect

They played a defensive game, as they should have, and it worked for more than 60 minutes. They needed to capitalize on one of any number of scoring chances in order to make that d play worth it.

As bad as the ending to this game was, most posts in here are absolutely pathetic. This board is becoming nothing more than a platform for whining and gloating. Absolutely shameful.

If sather does not march down to that locker room and rip the team/coaches a new one he needs to find a home in FL and call it quits.

It's the same **** we saw last year. The Capitals aren't all that great, but they coached so much better, and it's obvious that they know how to beat a Tortorella-coached team.
That's always been something I wish would change. I'm not sure how a coach can watch that and not flag it as a huge deficiency. The caps develop their plays so well from the point.

It's too bad, because had we won this game it would have gone down as one of the greatest playoff performances by a goaltender in history.

you should know by now that HFNYR makes bizarro world look like pre-school.

****** way to lose, I'll never understand how players, who normally have such good puck control, seem to misjudge banking a shot off the boards/glass so often.

Will be very interested to see how the Rangers come out at home

Still only down 2-0 and we head home.

The offense was absolutely dreadful and for the nth ****ing time (AND I CAN NOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH) we let Holtby finish another one of his ****ing books.

As far as the over-time goal. Did you guys see how much ****ing room Green had to shoot? We play WAY too passive in our own zone and attempt to just go down and block shots instead of attacking the guy with the puck.
It's the "laying-down" style of shot blocking that does it. A skilled puck-moving team can just hold onto the puck for a split second, then skate around the guy laying on the ice and get a glorious scoring chance.

If the guys want to shot-block against the Caps, they have to employ the kneeling method where they're still on one skate and mobile.

Feel bad for Hank. Plays his ass off and then his reward is that ridiculous deflection off of Stepan...

I love Lundqvist, but he needs to go somewhere else so he can win one. This team just isn't going to get it done for him.

It's a shame, because every playoffs media and retarded fans say that Lundqvist has never proven he can get it done in the postseason. He can get it done. He's proved that, but the problem is the team in front of him has never given him ANY support.

Trade Hank to Pittsburgh next year at the deadline, let his contract expire than resign him in the offseason. Sounds like a good plan to me.

Don't know what else Torts and Sully could do when all the players have proven to be walking brain farts comes PP time. They all hold the puck for 3 seconds too long and none of them move enough, I can't believe this what they are thought to do.

Before we give up on Torts, let's give him a full training camp and at least a quarter of a full season. That'll be fair.

Also amazing how the Capitals can out-Ranger the Rangers.

I swear the next time one of their players come out to block a shot, WIND UP AND PUT IT THROUGH HIS CHEEKBONE!

Mods - I am not referencing any individual player, I am simply stating a strategy to stop this blocked shot crap the NHL has become.

1 goal in two ****ing games and a fanbase that is sick and tired of this ********* is absolutely shameful?

This team, the coach, and the GM can go **** off.

Same thing happened last game. We got ****ed on the no goal and we hit another cross-bar right after it. If those two things change and we get the goals today instead of posts, we are up 2-0 in the series.

Truly a game of inches.
