We will do EVERYTHING in our power to get it here ASAP!
If we have extra money we are considering getting Eller and Diaz ones as well. Good idea? Bad?

Give the rest to the money to charity. The joke is funny for Prust, but the entire team doesn't need a Walrus pet!

Adopt a walrus? I already have. I contribute to various wildlife organizations. I'd gladly hand feed herrings to Paul MacLean. The media would have a ball!

Perhaps the rest of the money could go to the Max Pacioretty Foundation? Considering it was a head injury that caused this drama to begin.

I'm all for all of it going to the WWF though. I could see Eller appreciating it too.

This is a charity. That's why it's such a good idea.

Actually, the joke is not that funny. While I completely agree and support him in what he said, Prust will probably have some explaining to do. Calling the opponent coach "a walrus" is not something that pro sports tolerate (please give me examples from hockey or other pro sports).

What happened there was MacLean played the distraction card. After the game, he intently said something he knew will cause a lot of reactions and media pressure on him, to deflect the pressure from the players. Anyone thinking he does not know in details the bio of every opponent player is delusional. So he did it on a purpose - to cause emotional reactions from the Habs. Therien barely managed to keep his mouth shut, then his angle (lack of respect to Eller) was perfect.

Prust though...he kinda snapped there. All good fun but he will have to pay for it at some time. I only hope it was a planned move, to express all the anger of the team so the others could focus on the game.

And yes, he does look like a Walrus

I agree with this.

Would it be possible to have the amount collected posted on the first post?

We don't need it here that quickly - it's not like we're going to throw it on the ice, like an octopus. Right? Guys?

The original thought was the rest of the money would go to the Canadiens Children foundation, then I wondered if people might get upset, so we were thinking who else could get walruses (Maclean WAS a thought, trust me!).
But we could definitely give it to either the WWF or Max Pac or CH foundation-- > http://foundation.canadiens.com/en/
We just do not want to upset people.

Total so far is $163. Deadline is noon Tuesday EST.
I will add it to my original post.

10000% NOT a scam.

Hi all! New to the forum, not the Habs ;-)

I'll be the one whose PayPal account is used for this purpose, so when the emails from those donating are forwarded to me, you'll get an invoice from my PayPal account.

We'll definitely have enough to make priority shipping (2-4 days) a reality.

So glad so many people are in on this!

Oh - and Go Habs GO!

Welcome! Congrats to you and GallySquared for coming up with this great idea.

Loving the purple font btw.

Thank you! GallySquared came up with the idea - I jumped in with an offer to help organize. I have experience with WWF adoptions - adopted a tiger for myself, a polar bear for my father. And a PayPal account to make it easy. I'm excited about this because the walrus is now THE focal point of the playoffs.

And thanks - purple is my favorite color, I use it to express myself wherever I can. :-)

Scam.. Doubt it.. Scammers generally will try to go for more that 200$.. If it is a scam.. Being had for 10-40$ is not the worst thing in the world.

Besides Tigress writes in purple..... AND MIGHT BE A CHICK!

You had to use the font color to figure out someone named 'tigress' might be a chick?

Don't be offended. You're virtually unknown on this board, with 50 posts in 5 years. If it was Crimson or Habsfan18 or whitesnake, nobody would really suspect anything. I'm sure you're legit, but you can hardly be surprised if some are skeptical.

Oh, I can see I'm going to have fun here!

I get that there will be those who are skeptical - but this is legit. And when you see how many people have already expressed their excitement over it, it speaks to how energized the fan base became over Brandon Prust's comment.

Cheers, guys!

Actually tigress and I are both 'chicks'.

I don't post a lot but I read almost every single post, every single day.
I was just offended because I am the most honest person ever, and i would NEVER scam a soul... again, I understand that you don't know me from a hole in the wall, but just the notion upset me, so I apologize.

Anyways, I appreciate anything that is coming in to help this cause, so thank you, sincerely!
