MacLean resigns as coach of Columbus

....according to ESPN radio. He will remain the GM...no new coach has been named.

I guess this is for the better.

I really hope that Columbus can retain that last spot in the league so they can get the 1st Overall Pick.

Doug's gotta concentrate on how to deal for the 1st overall pick after Dudley wins the lottery again.

He should just stand down and let another have a go. The Preds have bits and pieces of greatness in them but no real direction to finish the job. They need vision now and if anything he has proven that he isn't able to give that part.

He should step away from GM and simply coach if he really wanted to help the team.

Very well thought out and insightful post. Except he coached the Blue Jackets not the Preds.

to let people know how much that really bugs Jackets and Preds fans...I'm going to start confusing OTHER teams with their rivals.

"Yeah, the Flames have always squeaked into the playoffs in the 8th spot, but this year, guys like Smyth aren't producing as well as they should."

"Aebischer is getting a lot of credit in net for the Wings, but it doesn't hurt that the team is so powerful offensively"

"The Leafs have disappointed everyone thus far, this year. Lalime really needs to step it up."

back on subject...Gallant has been promoted to head coach. I honestly think this is a good move. Did notice that Maclean took a parting shot, "i hope it was me that was causing a lot of these guys not to play well, because now that i'm not coach, there's no excuse"

Interesting , i think MacLean want to see the franchise have sucess and he will do everything he can . He really show leadership but now that the players don't play with ''the boss'' behind the bench i hope they continue to work hard .

And if they can grab a Ovechkin or a Malkin at the draft this team could be scary in a 5-6 years Zherdev - Malkin - Nash .. wow .
