With the 29th pick of the 2013 nhl entry draft, the Calgary Flames, are proud to select :
Highly competitive little man with excellent acceleration and a really heavy shot. Can go wide on defenseman and battles for the puck and drives the net. Backchecks, and attacks with the same quickness.
Chicago is really happy Hayden fell to us, he will provide the opposition with a headache continually while on the ice paving the way for Toews to have an easy time when he's on the ice. All the while creating havoc whatever line or forward position he's asked to play and winning faceoffs in all three zones. John Hayden while playing on the 2nd & 3rd lines and 2nd PP unit, scored 17 goals one less than Compher and scored 10% of the USNTDP/U18's GWG's at 4 gwg's in 39 wins often while shutting down the top line for the opposition. Likely why his Central Scouting final ranking of 29th overall doesn't shock those that play on his team, he's money in the bank or titles for the rafters. At 6'3" and 218 lbs. he's a force in every game and a real great teammate.
