Nah...it was a shot from close range.

Maybe in the SEL. He's not going to be a good face-off man in the NHL right off of the bat. It'll take some time to learn the tendencies of NA players.

LA: Cowan (interference), 17:43
Sharks score. OK...now that one looked bad...Cloutier appeared to lose track of the puck in front of him on a scramble in front of his crease and the puck trickled in through the 5-hole.
2. SAN JOSE. Mark Smith 1 (Stevenson, Traverse), 17:58 POWER PLAY

That's a good point. Some players pick those tendencies up faster than others, though, so we'll see how Kopitar responds.

BTW Turco looked awful for Dallas allowing 3 goals on 10 shots tonight, looks like he put on some weight.
SJ: Nieminen (delay of game), 19:18
Sharks were definitely the better team in the first period. Kings looked a littke disorganized and Schaefer looked sharp on the few chances the Kings had. SJ outshoots the Kings, 11-6 in the period.

It's only pre-season so I'm somewhat contained about the outcome...

Happier about heading out to Vegas in about 7-hrs....

Did Niemenen really get a 5 minute major for hooking?

Wow, did this really happen? How can you get a five minute major for hooking? I need to know!

You can't get a 5 min for hooking.

2nd period underway.
Blake gets a chance from above the right face-off dot but misses wide right.
SJ: Goc (holding), 1:07 Kings: 2-man ad for 12 seconds.
Good PP shift by the Kings that time. They didn't score, but they got some good chances.

If you hook someone by the neck, you could. That's a guess.

That's been a problem with ESPN's feed since last season. Just use the NHL.com reports...

19:18 15 V. NIEMINEN 2:00 Delaying Game-Puck over glass

Wow that thing was way off. I normally do use the nhl.com one, but the link wasn't working last time I checked it.

Five minutes... five words in the description of the penalty... give 'em credit for being close.

ESPN also has the scoring wrong on the first goal.

Sharks are getting the better chances...what few there are in this period.
LA: Giuliano (hooking), 8:52
Schaefer just beat O'Sullivan on a shorthanded breakaway.
BIG save by Cloutier. Got back across to the left post to rob one of the Sharks at the right goal post.
Another good save by Cloutier in a chance from the low slot.

Kings PP SJ: Kaspar (hooking), 12:12

Kopitar just barely missed on a backhand chance in front. Goalie got his left skate on it.

Other than Kopitar's chance, the Kings did nothing with that PP.

Man, i hope we score soon. King of ironic that we have our "big guns" out there tonight and can't score and last night we played a lot of our bottom lines (not having Cammy, Blake, Conroy, Sully, etc) and lit the lamp 7 times!
