I have no idea what CBC is doing. I know NESN showed the hit multiple times and seems to think it warrants a hearing and given the Ference suspension warrants one.

My point is the way bad hits in the NHL seem to work is if the Canadian media doesn't pick it up then the league doesn't either. As long as the Canadian media keeps a lid on it Shanahan can pretend like it didn't happen.

Dude, we get it. You didn't see it. So why do you keep posting about it? Other people did see it. You do realize the game was broadcast on two networks right? Some people watched the game on NESN and some on CBC/CBC via CNBC. There is proof -- it's called replay technology. Quit acting like there is no video proof.

I watched it on NESN. THe only times I've had to watch Healy is when the game is on NHL Network in the States. Its honestly been a while since I've listened to Healy, but...he crapped on the Bruins badly.

I just went back and watched the NESN feed of the Phaneuf hit. He made contact with his shoulder... and I am trying to be as unbiased as I can... It looked to me like initial contact was made with the shoulder to the shoulder and Phanuefs shoulder rode up and caught Paille in the head. But I don't think the head was the principle or initial point of contact. Most likely no suspension.

I wish I knew how to record the video and post a YT. I have GCL so I can go back and watch it whenever I want to but I don't think I can record it.

I don't even know what you're trying to communicate. I'm talking about Hughson, Simpson and Healey.

I believe you guys. Seems like everyone on the main board is just dismissing it before we even get a video posted.

Pretty obvious opinion here, but if Ference got a game for his hit on Grabs, than Phanuef should get at least 1 game. You could argue for 2, because he came flying in at Paille with the elbow raised, whereas Ference looked like he might have been partially bracing for contact (while playing the puck), albeit a bit recklessly.

This came from Damien Cox right after the hit from his twitter

@DamoSpin: League's gonna want to look at that Phaneuf hit on Paille. Possible head shot.

I haven't seen anyone else mention it. I was watching the CBC feed and it looked like an elbow, however they didn't give it much attention.

Hey guys, this pic was posted on the Playoff board GDT.

To me, it looks like a hit to the chest with his arm tucked in. It's just one angle though.

If Lucic did this to Kadri there would be 600 pages on it and an emergency midnight Shanahan in person hearing.

That literally shows nothing. One frame shot from behind with no evidence of the follow through.

it's also a single image. basically useless. i missed the game so i can't comment on the hit at all, but stills and pics are a waste when trying to determine what's what.

we need some video of this or we really can't argue about it and talk about if it is worth a suspension (although watching live I believe it will end up as one)

I don't think you know where the chest is.

I just got back on here to post a screen shot as well. LOL!

Principle point of contact is the shoulder

I'm curious to see a video of this incident. I really didn't get a very good look of it myself.

Images about 2 to 3 frames apart. Definite head shot - more shoulder than elbow from back angle. Last 2 frames are in next post. High elbow follow through - shown in next post.
