Also, Tommernes signing is a good thing. He's done well in a good league.

So far, I think Freisen is the only player the Canucks have signed that doesn't look like at least an AHLer.
Too bad. This team needs to be developing quality bottom six players. I was hoping Friesen would develop into a solid 3rd or 4th line C.

The defense is fine. It's better than what the Chicago Wolves iced this season IMO.

Drop Tommernes to the bottom pairing and put Joslin there and it looks fine.

I'd add Price and Corrado in there. Would be neat to see what a homegrown defence could do, though not realistic.

Also really highlights the need for more scoring centers with upside in the system. Schroeder is on the cusp of graduating, and Gaunce has another year of junior to go. Labate probably won't turn out to be one. Myron and Beattie are unknowns at this point but seem like they might adapt to the wing.

Perhaps Laganiere would have helped.

The only real slip was Anthony.
All of those guys were signed to contracts by Gillis. He may not have drafted Gendur, but he determined him to be worth signing to an ELC. Walsky and Tochkin were FA signings by Gillis.

Wait, was "the Canucks have signed" originally meant to mean "that the Canucks have currently under contract?"

this is intersting timing

I guess he watched the Canucks defense the last two games and realized it will be an easy lineup to crack.

Aren't Andersson and Tommernes both LHD?

And Corrado and Price both RHD?

Would make more sense to have a LHD paired with a RHD, wouldn't it?

Actually, his development has been at a stand still for the last two years, mainly due to a poor coach. We were all waiting for him to explode offensively, but that never transpired. He's got the talent and hockey sense, though.

I can only hope his development doesn't stagnate in North America with another poor coach. But good to know he has the ability though.
