Much as I want Iginla to be great and play with Sid... Look at his legs, guy is slow. Does he even have the speed to keep up with Sid? He might really be best on Malkin's RW to unleash the shot and win some puck battles, and generally let Malkin slow the game down for him. The trouble is there is already a guy(though currently out) called Neal there to play that role better.

We still win off a Crosby - Kunitz goal.
I'm not sure if you just don't think there would be a second assist orrr if you don't know that its 5 on 5 in the playoffs OT.

Same story every playoffs since 2009. Go up, play prevent defense, lose the lead, unable to turn the offensive jets back on, lose in heartbreaking fashion.

Sutter has been hot garbage in this series.

This really is the type of moment that Brandon Sutter shines in... I could see him potting a goal

Oh, the ups and downs, well, mostly downs so far, of playoff hockey.
That shorthanded one was just so unneccesary. Niskanen watching as Okposo grabs the puck and goes in on a breakaway.

My picks are Morrow for the Pens and Moulson for the Isles.

LGP!

This makes me wanna puke. Playing like the team from slap shot. Pinching down the wall up 4-2, no gap control. Somebody has to step it up. D has been laughable, no offensive zone time. Pirates are on.

Talent means jack **** if you don't have the heart to back it up. THat's what sets this current edition of the Pens apart from the 09 version.

Stop apologizing for him. You've been covering for his **** play all day. Give it up. He's let in weak goals today.

I have a hard time understanding this team sometimes. I don't put those last two goals on Fleury both were very good shots / good looks, one a breakaway one a screen and you're not going to save a high percentage of those all the time... but the lack of... intensity on this team at times is hard to understand.

It goes back to what I said yesterday. From Bylsma and Crosby this sort of "we never get emotional or intense" zen-thing seems to flow to the rest of the team. Always calm, never up, never down... I don't like it. Sometimes showing some emotion / urgency in a game or after a game is a good thing. It's fine to keep an even keel and not get too high after a win or too low after a loss or bad goal but there's just no fire in this team.

I don't get it but it's about all I can come up with. I do understand playoff teams are good teams by definition and we're not going to win every game or play mistake-free hockey but the patterns that have shown up year after year, roster after roster... suggest this has nothing to do with a specific opponent. You're supposed to get fired up for the playoffs and it's like we get fired up, have a game where we rack up a bunch of goals, then we calm down. I don't think it's entirely helpful.

This team has played 10x better during the regular season. When the playoffs roll around they stop giving a damn, like they already accomplished something.

This always happens, we get Sid back and we think we're ****ing invincible, this team needs to take a step back and look at all the other teams who have been playing unreal defense, this is what wins us a ****ing Cup

Oh that's right, the team was playing amazing and then Bylsma took over and it was par for the course right up to the cup!

Or wait...wasn't there a dramatic turnaround right when Bylsma arrived on the scene???

BRING BACK THERRIEN!!! HE WAS SO MUCH BETTER THAN THIS CLOWN.
