Hall vs Kessel

Hall and Kessel are the two most underated forwards on hf imo . who would you take now and in the future. Honestly I think both are equal.

Now, it's pretty close.

In the future, edge Hall. He'll have a physical and defensive game Kessel will never have.

Kessel is a superior goal scorer and is one hell of a playmaker. Unless Hall is able to become a great playmaker, Kessel has the edge now and in the future.

I find it funny that the poll suggests that no Oilers fan anywhere would take Kessel, and even funnier that it suggests no Leafs fan would choose Hall.

Hall is an underrated playmaker, it's a dimension he's added to his game since he's come into the league, and the results really started showing this year (8th in the league in assists). A lot of his "playmaking" is being able to back off defenders and find or create chances for his teammates. He's also a very good passer; I've noticed especially an uncanny ability to find teammates with hard saucer passes.

Hall had two more assists in three less games compared to Kessel this year... ........

Kessel. Better goal scorer and playmaker. Also PPG in the regular season AND pretty much the playoffs as well.

Starting from next season, I think I'd take Hall.

Kessel is a better sniper so far, but Hall's playmaking was superior this year. He also plays with more passion and has the intangibles that it looks like Kessel doesn't.

Kessel now. But Hall in the future. Kessel has worse players around him and still scores 30+ a season.

All the vs hall polls are getting annoying.

Third vs Hall poll in 3 days.

How is this guy "underrated"?

Leaf fan going with Kessel. It's very close, Hall is a lot younger and likely has more upside. At this point though, Kessel is a player who can adapt to any line and still be a PPG player. He can score, but can also take a back seat and be an elite playmaker if needed.

I'm going to go with Kessel because his team is starting to have success. I don't think Hall can replicate what Kessel does for this team. It might change because Hall is younger and likely has a lot of untapped upside. However, Kessel is also only 25.

Hall is the Kessel of the Oilers.

How am I supposed to pick?

Scoring the game winner against Boston in the playoffs. I'd say you could put that in the intangibles section.

Hall.

Comparing Kessel to Hall at the same age there is no argument... comparing them now I am still leaning to Hall because he has more puck hunger/will to win. Both have great shots/speed... but Hall has more grit to his game.

He gets knocked for it due to the risk of injury of his playing style, but it's what makes Hall special.

Leafs fan voting for Kessel because he has proven to be an elite goal scorer.

Kessel AINEC, hall is injury prone & won't have a long career. Kessel will win the Rocket Richard trophy at least once in his career
