I wouldn't wish death on the guy, and if he spends 2.5 hours a night giggling uncontrollably he'll drop dead.

The penalty problem is it Gulutzan?
In Gulutzan's two seasons the Stars finished 2nd and tied for 5th in most minor penalties taken.
In Crawford's two seasons the Stars finished 16th and 24th in minor penalties taken.
In Tippett's final season the Stars finished 16th in minor penalties taken.

I think that the coach was not the problem. He can only work with what he is given. I think he should be given a chance with some new players. Alot of teams are going to have to reduce salary, and some good players should be available. At least I hope.

Is Lindy Ruff available? Wouldn't mind him behind our bench next year.

Half of the time I think Willie would be the best choice, then I think I want him to stay down to keep grooming the younger players. Ruff might be good, he seems to have softened his style a bit.

I wouldn't mind Lindy Ruff. It was obviously time for him to move on from Buffalo, but I think over the large majority of his time there he was a good coach for them.

And hey, if you can't beat 'em, join 'em.

Then again, that didn't work out too well for Crawford....

Normally I'd prefer more of a hard-ass coach for this team, but Tip is too good to pass up.

Sure why not. Most of the leadership core from when he was here last and supposedly lost the team is gone now.

Let's go ahead and prepare the contract ourselves and mail it to Gaglardi.

The only problem with Tippett is that hiring him would be similar to the hiring of Nieuwy in that it's another person that was here when the team was good. Sure it may not have been the same teams (Cup team vs post Cup teams), but still it's the same idea.

I don't see it as similar at all. Everyone else was holding on to 1999 by giving power to people with no experience. Tippett is about as proven as it gets.

No thank you on Tippet. I'm tired of watching boring hockey.

Not only on that, I don't want to see consistent playoff disappointment.

I wish I could remember what it's like to have a team in the playoffs.

Let's think this through guys.

Nill is going to want us to be in the Red Wings puck possession mold. Which coach on the market, or on the hot seat, use a system like Detroit's?

Boucher? Hellllll no.

Tipp? Nah.

Ruff? We're getting closer.

Tortorella? Eh, kinda.

Fraser? Definitely.

I'm okay with Fraser at the helm, but he needs some solid assistant coaches.
