This is the stupidest thing I've ever seen. No, no, no, no.

The two players from Vancouver I would love to see on the Rangers are Kesler and Edler.

Assuming the Sedin's ever get traded , it will be for young players. That trade makes the current team worse and it really doesn't help the future much more.

In trading both Sedins you aren't going to get all picks for them

Callahan is a useable piece, but Richards at this stage is a step down from Henrik, and Callahan and Krieger don't make up the difference. The Rangers don't have the pieces to get the Sedins from the Canucks, NMCs aside.

Dropping our two best offensive players doesn't make sense unless we're getting at least one equal player back per twin.

To be honest I don't think the Rangers have the pieces. None of those pieces are potential superstars.

If I had to find a deal it would probably be something like del Zotto + Kreider + 1st(we can take Richards as a cap dump if necessary)

No chance....

Look at what Nash and Gaborik got, I would say the Twins are better than those too or atleast more valuable. So take the value that both of they got, add that together and add a bit more.

Then you get the value of both the twins.

We are talking monster value.

Sedins are second line players earning six million a year. At best they are deadline bait.

Ranger fans have talked about a buyout for Richards because of the salary recapture penalty. The Rangers aren't going to trade him and then get hit with a cap hit when he retires.

Vancouver gets fleeced.

To get the Sedins you'd be looking at:
Mcdonagh, Callahan, Stepan, Kreider...
Which is not worth it for NY given their ages.

They definitely have the pieces. Mcdonagh/Stepan lol. Those two are definitely a start.

I don't think any team is going to trade for the privelage of buying out Richards.

This^, times a gazillion +.

IF it were ever true that I ever had stupidest post, this clearly takes the cake, and you have the title.

We want to add to Kreider, even if we move our vets for top dollar.

Also, we can't trade Richards, cause we get hit w/the 6.6+m cap hit if/when he breaks down in 4-5-6 years if not sooner.

There are other, better upgrades we could get if do that package (minus/substitute Richards for the aforestated reason).

I am not gonna be a hypocrite.
I have said, no sacred cows, be open minded to all combos that = profitable enough upgrade.

This does not, esp. taking into account ages and salary.

That is the majority consensus, for sure.

There have been posts etc about taking on Richards, but usually NY had to add a premium to move his big numbers, or had to take back substantial large or bad and large numbers the other way.

If the recapture provision were not in place, maybe something could happen, but odds of it working out are slim.

For example, earlier in year with both players playing like crap, there were calls to move something around Richards for Ovechkin (an even larger #).

So deals like that are a crapshoot at the time, but possible, the recapture provision notwithstanding.

Neither team should do this.
I don't like Richard's contract. It's way too long and he's lacked consistency over the years.
Kreider has a way to go before he's worth something significant to me.
As for the Sedins, they're not the answer the Rangers are looking for. They've had a hard time producing in the playoffs to a great extent on some years. One could argue that the East's style would benefit the Sedins to a significant extent, but the West was much more wide open when they first hit their primes and I don't think it really effected their play a whole lot.

Don't see why the Rangers do this, ever. The Sedins are soft and you can't win with them as the core pieces, horrible deal for New York simply because Callahan is included

OP, this is ridiculous. The Rangers have no need of the Sedins and we're not giving them up for anything short of a huge overpayment.

I am curious what New York fans would offer for Edler or Bieksa though.

No way in hell. Stop trying to pawn off our captain and our core pieces Kershaw, we get it, you don't like Callahan and want to package our best prospect with him for two aging brothers. The Sedins are top 10 players, but I wouldn't do that trade...what happens in 5 years? Callahan will be the Sedin's age right now, Kreider will be in his prime, and Richards will be fishing for lobsters off P.E.I. We want to extend our window since it doesn't look like its this year...
