I want AV fired so I dont have to see post after post after post crying about the coach after every single loss, or close win, or short playoff run, or long playoff run, or when he says something bad about a player, or when he says something good about a player that could be misinterpreted to be bad, or when he dose not play all the rookies, or when he dose but dose not give them top line minutes, or when he chews gum, or when a player is injured and he dose not know how long it will be till he returns, or when he dose know how long it will be and everyone says Doctor AV etc etc etc...

It won't stop. It'll just begin with the new coach.

Niemi > Schneider/Luongo

Really doesn't matter who they go with at this point, look for the Sharks to go up 3-0 tonight.

Needless to say, Canucks need the win tonight. Down 3 games to none, it's pretty much game over. Down 2 games to 1, we have ourselves a series.

Nah. Niemi hasn't been fairly tested hardly at all and when he has been, he's let in goals.

Statistically, you're in dreamland. Win this game and it's still 2-1 with one more on the road. Losing home ice advantage is a pretty big deal, especially considering your road record. IMO this series was over when the Sharks took game 1 and sealed the deal in game 2.

I didn't say the Canucks would be in the driver's seat if they won tonight's game, but that they'd be in the series. Even if they lost Game 4, you'd hope the Canucks would have built enough morale to win Game 5 at home, which would lead to the game of their lives in Game 6 in San Jose.

What I'm saying is that the difference in the outlook on this series going forward is huge depending on the result for the Canucks tonight.

Stats are meaningless. If Vancouver wins the next two games, it's a new series. It's not like San Jose is the '77 Canadians and it's not like Vancouver is incapable of being a great team, especially when their back are against the wall.

You're saying it's improbable for a team down 2-0 in a series to come back?

News to me

There is no fight, I think once this team gets eliminated he's pretty much done unless we reach the finals/conference finals.

(Atleast I am very hopeful)

This year its Cory playing better behind the Canucks.
Poor Gillis, he has the handicap of having to build a team with zero plugs. Even as 15th forwards or 8th dmen.

Cause AV will seek them out and make them core players.

What goals? He's given up 3 in 2 games, one was an own goal off a teammate when he was shoved over, one he was screened by three guys, and one was a point blank shot from 20 feet away. Kesler's 2nd goal was the only one he arguably should have stopped, but even that shot is one shot. His sv% is over 95. Don't know what to tell you.

I feel quite confident that if the goalies were switched thus far it would have been even more one sided in favour of the sharks.

Has he made even one tough save yet this series?

Any decent goalie should be stopping the chances he has been facing.

Tell that to the 2011 Bruins. You see, as soon as Montréal won Games 1-2 the series was over. So yeah, that Stanley Cup banner they have must be fake.

Tonight will be really interesting. Schneider is indeed an upgrade over Luongo, he's plays more technically sound and relies less on desperation saves. However the upgrade is really small because a Luongo is a great goaltender himself.

But for whatever reason, the team just plays with more confidence and assertiveness when Cory is in net. Luongo had two solid games against LA last year, and then when Schneider came in for game three the teams play was night and day different. Still didn't get any puck luck, but the team played much stronger and faster. Lets see if the Canucks are able to win a game and make this a series!

OT: I wish the Sharks would wear their normal teal jerseys. The teal is their trademark. Don't particularly care for the black third jerseys.

There have been 37 comebacks down 2-0 to win a best of seven out of 291 instances. 18 of those times were teams that dropped the first two at home.

He's stopped at least a handful of 2 on 1 opportunities in the first two games. Don't sit there with a straight face and say or imply that he hasn't made a tough save yet. I can understand the self-deprecation with regards to your team but don't discredit the opposition while you're doing it.

Its a shame AV has a better option and won't use him.

Right, 2 on 1 with no pass.

Stay in position and a decent goalie should make that save.
