**** the NHL, seriously
Taking a page out of the old "Sideshow Bob" Darcy Tucker bag of tricks, lunging with both the elbow and the knee. And here Leaf fans told us it wasn't possible to do both and Brown gives us a great representation of it.

I see nothing wrong with it. Would've of been a great hit had he connected...he was going for the forearm shiver to the shoulder/chest.

Not sure if this is old news, but Hodgson's goal against Carolina didn't make the NHL Networks top 10 goals of the year list or honorable mention. I thought it was pretty ridiculous.

You don't see a problem with him sticking his right leg out? And taking a hop step with his left skate to make sure he got close enough?

No...when you're attempting to make a hit...you tend to try and get as close as possible to deliver the hit.

With your shoulder, not your elbow... and certainly not with your knee.

The knee went where he threw his body...he led with his forearm...elbow goes where your forearm goes. Again..would of been a great hit had he connected... Since he missed it looks awkward.

He was actually leading into the hit with his knee all the way, then lunged head-level with his arm as an adjustment... he made that move AFTER the player changed the angle. If you're not convinced you're not convinced so I'll leave it at that, but I don't think you'll find many outside of LA who agree with what you see.

He went head level yet hit him below the shoulder? All while the player was bent over a bit? Odd.

F the Penguins.

It's practically an all star team.

It's their conference to lose IMO.

This Islanders team is so damn likeable.

Also, Vokoun starts game 4 if the Pens lose this, right?

Brad Boyes sets up the tying goal with a huge hit.

I'm not sure who this version of Brad Boyes is or where he came from.

No amount of offense and possession can offset being bad defensively. The Islanders shouldn't be able to do the things they're doing.

He's the top-six RW that Ruff buried on the 4th line. The guy that finally got some top PP time and put up some pts with Vanek, then got hurt against Boston, and never had another chance when he came back. Boyes didn't play a complete two-way game, so Ruff didn't like him and cut his nose off to spite his face by putting him in a position to never help the team. My question is, why did Regier acquire him if Ruff wasn't going to use him if (when) he turned out to be the same player he always was?

If that elbow or knee connected it deserves a game at least.

The guy is an extreme talent but you have to wonder if Subban will be a Montreal Canadian next year. Wouldn't be surprised to see him in an Oilers jersey next season.

Sorry, as fantasy commissioner of the NHL, I will only accept a trade of Subban to Boston. The world deserves to see Montreal fans flipping out about that punk Subban taking liberties with their players. Plus there's the brothers angle.

Is it just me or is the whole Anaheim vs LA winter classic game not very well thought out? How the hell are they going to maintain ice conditions in an outdoor game in California? The players are going to be sweating their balls off, too.

No ****, they had problems trying to hold one in Philly and Pittsburgh. How the hell are they going to manage Calli?
