If he get a case of the short the Lightning will end up on the market again. Vinik would make a killing on that sale he got the Lightning for next to nothing and a bunch of land to go with it.

Vinik has no intentions of selling the Lightning. He's already moved his family and (now closing)business to Tampa in order to be closer to the team and has been adamant about rejuvenating the community and helping rebuild Channelside. There's even been talk of him buying the Rays and moving them out of St Pete and into Tampa.

I remember him as a horrible Magellan fund manager. I wish the best for Lightning fans. Hopefully he will do better managing that team.
