LOL @ the PFA, but really nobody thought to clear the guy's content for his act?

Somewhere Luis Suarez is laughing at the irony...

Yeah that was tough...couple of bad slips cost them. What a finish for the 2nd goal though and what a play by Torres to set that up. Should have had the 3 points, but what can you do?

Has an FA Cup winner ever been relegated the same season? I think Norwich is going down myself...

Congrats to Lampard. Way to come through old man. Looked like Terry blew his ankle up there at the end....ouch.

Gotcha, missed the word major and figured he was just talking about the 3 still being played. Has any of the 4 teams managed to win the Super Cup as well?

Imagine Jose taking over for CHelsea and Bayern winning Champs League.

Pep vs Jose again. Haha.

edit: Barcelona and Bayern are 2 of the 4. Barcelona has won the Super Cup, doesn't look like Bayern has.

edit2: Oh Chelsea won the Super Cup back when it was Cup Winners Cup playing Champs League. Didn't think about that possibility.

edit3: Last one is Ajax who has won the Super Cup as well.

So only Bayern of the 4 hasn't won it and it looks like they elected not to play in the match when they had the chance.

Well done, I followed German soccer mostly growing up. At least I jumped on the Chelsea bandwagon at the beginning of last season before they got hot a won.

I watched almost every EPL game last season (not just Chelsea, the entire EPL) to see who I would enjoy watching most and I kept getting pulled back in by Lampard and Mata. Dumb luck for me that they won, but I'm hooked now.

Anyone that is a Caps fan deserves to bandwagon at least one other sport...I think it's only fair.

Thats the way to do it. With the NBC deal next year I have been getting a lot of friends to start looking into soccer. I tell them to be patient about picking a team, and you will find the right one after watching them. I've mostly focused on explaining to them the culture and structure for the leagues and different cups.

Some of them are really starting from scratched and had to start with the concept of club vs national, though I got it down to a system now and have created some graphics and stuff. I'm excited for next year's season. I would really like to see the sport catch on in the States. I think it will pass the NHL not long from now.

The last two aren't really major, they are consolation tournaments like the NIT for college basketball. It's a much bigger deal for smaller clubs than ones in the business of buying championships. Pulling off a treble is a much bigger accomplishment for those clubs.

Though I wouldn't put it past Ted to put up a banner for Chelski's trophies. #EliteFans

The Cup Winners Cup until UEFA started messing around was a very important trophy as at the height of the Cup Winners Cup, the European Cup was league champions only, Cup Winners main cup winner went through (if the champion won the cup, the runner up went into the Cup Winners). Only when UEFA reformed the European Cup into the Champions League did the Cup Winners Cup become a joke. The Cup Winners Cup was taken as seriously as the European Cup and to say it wasn't major is an insult to football. >_>

We're going on what 15 years since the Cup Winners Cup died? If nobody else can win it anymore you can't include winning it as well as the other two continental trophies as some kind of accomplishment IMO.

And this is coming from an Ajax fan, another club that won all three...
