Subban

I was really worried about Subban's reaction last night. I know he got crosschecked and he was frustrated because it wasn't called. But he just completely lost his cool and played a really dumb game because of it. He was trying to use his anger to take over the game and do everything himself, but it only ended up in a bunch of broken plays. And the yelling at Pacioretty on the bench was very uncool. Honestly, I thought Subban's behavior helped turn the game against Montreal in a big way. I also think the only way to get back in the series, aside from Price not allowing yet another softie, is for Subban to get himself under control. How likely do you think it is he can get it together at this point?

A litle alarmist aren't we? Subban has been praised all season long for the maturity he displayed and how improved he has been all around. Did he get carried away yesterday? Absolutely. Would anyone else react the same? Pretty much.

The team got hit in illegal ways all through the 1st period with barely any penalties called. The outcome of this game, IMO, falls on the refs' shoulders for not doing anything for half the game when we were getting slashed, cross-checked, hit from behind, etc.

Subban is the only reason our D has looked NHL caliber this series.

Subban plays with passion, heart, great skill, and even dropped the gloves to give a guy a pounding and yet you're picking on him? Sheesh.

Subban should be the least of your worries.
Him yelling at MaxPac was absolutely warranted.
MaxPac has been rather unimpressive thus far, you have a teammate that just got destroyed two games ago because of a suicide pass, and now that same teammate puts you in a very tough spot where you get blindsided.
You bet your ass he has every right to yell at MaxPac, and Max better have apologized.

Subban is well under control. He's been our best player along with Galla. Those two were yet again our best two yesterday.
You're right, he was trying to do too much by himself, which is normal when the rest of the team looks uninterested in playing the game.

Really disagree. I am glad Subban get going full tilt all game instead of just giving up, that speaks to good things for whether or not he will be playing defeated for the rest of the series. Also do we actually know what Subban was yelling on the bench? Are you just following the PJ Stock line of reasoning (as in none) or has it actually come out?

Subban is just starting to get the superstar treatment (it comes with recognition), and I'm sure he's tough enough and smart enough to deal with it eventually. Give him time.

Not at all, the game was over. It was a frustrating game. He wouldn't done that if the score would be 2-1

When the habs will actually get a 1 or 2 hard hitting defenseman and one to play with Subban and when we will have guys that will jump on other teams for touching our star players... then we will have a chance at winning the cup.

I don't understand your post at all, Subban showed up and played every game with emotion while guys like Desharnais, Pacioretty etc... are nowhere to be found.

That's his team now and that's it guys, stop denying it.

He's probably tired of getting run every time.

Subban did lose it a little bit... but he can't be blamed.

Re: "the pass"

Maxpac was very very careless... I'm no hockey expert, but I cringed when I saw that one.

Personally, I still love Max.

The guy went through a lot... and Chara really hurt his ascension. Everyday people cannot imagine how scary that must have been.

Look, I'm not dissing the guy. I'm a big supporter of his, but I also recognize that he's one of the best players on the team and others will follow his example. If he's letting himself get provoked, it'll spark reaction from his teammates. Since he's going to be a major target, especially if teams know he's going to react, I'm wondering if he'll be able to control the passion and intensity we all love to see in him and channel it into something positive. Last night, he didn't do that. Since he's such an important part of the team, I think he knows he's got to channel his anger better. I hope he's able to do it, starting tomorrow.

Subban played a horrible game last night, it was unacceptable. That being said, the whole team did too.

Drama drama drama. I was cringing at the demonizing job that CBC was doing during the intermissions.

He was playing with fire. So what if he yelled at Patches? They're adults and I doubt that resentment carried over. Everyone was frustrated, Subban isn't allowed to be?

Some players like Subban have been working their butt off, being targetted by Sens all series long. You don't need freaking careless pass from a teammate sleeping at the wheel.

I have no problem when a teammate tells another to wake the **** up.

In fact, I appreciate Subban even more after last night. Intensity, anger, cares.

Subban has every right to be angry. He is one of the few Habs who bring it every game. They are too many passengers in this team.

A big middle finger to Bergevin and Molson for allowing our all-star player to get abused and run every game without someone coming to his defense.

agree, name me one superstar who gets cross-checked continually with no retribution. Karlsson got punched like 3 times last series, and Boyle got the whole team after him. Seguin? Chara went ape **** on Emelin. Kessel? No one even dares with Mclaren, Orr and Fraser on that team. Point?Proven, I hope.

I felt the same way to be honnest... He was taken off his game... he took 2 dumb penalties and i thought it was a pretty selfish play on his part to attack Turris... I'm Subban's biggest supporter, but last night was one of his worst game of the season... PK has shown great composure so far in his career, but last night the Sens got to him..... That thing on the bench with Pacioretty well... that was a bit concerning for me too... don't worry i'm not a PJ Stock fan.... I also found it ironic that CBC would put the blame on PK for the "pass" when it was the other way around when Eller got nailed... They were all saying.. if i'm Eller id be pist off at Diaz...

Pacioretty gave him a suicide pass that could have done a lot of damage, I'd be pissed if I were Subban too.

Subban's one of the few players who has shown up to play every game this season and put in a 100% effort. He showed emotion and got angry. It happens. You move on. If we had someone that could protect Subban, then Subban wouldn't need to be doing things like last night.

It wasn't Pacioretty, it was player 67

Yes that is very sad. The only teams on top of my head who do not protect their star players are the Sabres and the Cannuks. And suprise, both team are as soft as butter just like the Habs.

I am very worried that Subban will have is career cut short like Markov. Markov got run like there is no tomorrow leading to his injury plagued years. Markov is now in the same current state that Kaberle, he cannot play 5 on 5 anymore and his role can be summarize as a power play specialist, like the hated MAB.

I had no problem with Subban yesterday. He's awesome and playing with passion during playoffs. Pacioretty gave him a soft suicide pass and Subband didn't accept the fact that Pacioretty isnt playing with passion.

Pacioretty could take Subban as a example. He sucks.

At 5-1 or what ever the score was I didn't think it was selfish and Turris is quite the **** disturber. Their 5 players on the ice had pounded ours a few minutes before you think the Sens fans think they we're being selfish and leaving the players with only 10 guys on the bench?
