We won't know lines until gametime, Hitch said they will be a gametime decision, so it's just an educated guess. I think we all pretty much know that Tarasenko will play.

I think the winner of this game will be the winner of the series.

Please score, Blues, but keep defending too.

Yes the lineups are just guesses. They will probably end up being wrong.

If it's obvious to everyone here (and on the ice) that the team needs help finishing, it'll take more than Tarasenko to do that tonight. He'll likely be a heavily marked man if he's out there, which should open up a little space for his linemates to get in prime scoring position or clean up the rebounds Kings defenders don't. But if the Blues keep sniping as poorly as they have so far, Elliott and our D will bear the brunt of those missed chances.

The "must win" meter is starting to climb. I'd hate to see us tied coming home for game 5. Let's go Blues!

I get to watch this one. Hooray! Oh, and I think sitting Sobotka would be a huge mistake. My guess is one of Stewart or Mcdonald sits.

As I posted in the series thread, I don't think that's anything remotely close to a guarantee.

I would prefer to have Sobotka in, but who do you take out, it seems everyone has an even upside and downside.

I do too. My guess it that Hitch sends a message to Stewart and sits him....hoping he'll come back with a chip on his shoulder. If he isn't going to grind, he needs to score.

I would sit Cracknell, drop Sobotka to the 4th line center and make Steen the 3rd line center and roll with

Schwartz-Backes-Oshie
Perron-Berglund-Stewart
Mac-Steen-Tarasenko
Porter-Sobotka-Reaves/Cracknell

Edit: we could just let Mac take the draws on the 3rd line and have Steen take away the center ice in the D zone

Tonight's game is the turning point in this series, and I'd rather Hitch get Tarasenko in and exposed to the pace and pressure of play sooner rather than later, when we could very well be tied and fighting LA's momentum.

But hinting to play #91 and not doing it seems an unnecessary motivational ploy to light a fire under an underperforming few at the expense of a player hungry to get in and make a difference. Why should Hitch give yet another chance to those who have, for whatever reasons, missed their kicks at the can?

To that end, it wouldn't shock me to see the 3rd and 4th lines rearranged, with Cracknell or Porter held out and Sobotka moved down.

I don't like changing our top two lines that have generated most of our scoring opportunities and keep the Reactor line together. Simply sit Stewart or A-Mac...my preferance is below:

Schwartz-Backes-Steen
Perron-Berglund-Oshie
A-Mac-Sobotka-Tarasenko
Cracknell-Porter-Reaves

Thoughts: Steen is way more effective as a winger. Stewart is in "Ghost" form and needs to dedicate himself to making his presence felt...maybe channeling his spirit through Whoopi Goldberg. A-Mac is still generating offensive opportunities but disappears when the puck is in the Blues end. Sobotka is not capable of picking up the slack for both Stewart and A-Mac so a change needs to be made...hence the Tank. Let the CPR line keep doing their thing.

Osh and Backes were fantastic against San Jose last year. I like the idea of putting them together for some shifts early on.

Stewart and Frank could easily rotate between the 2nd and 3rd as the game evolves, too, but I'd mainly like to see Stewart with Mac and Steen to keep his feet moving and driving the net.

That lineup, IMO, would be ideal. Even though the CPR line was scored on and they barely played in the third period of game 3, I wouldn't want to break them up just yet.

AMAC is finished... Put in frank the tank. Keep the fourth line together and you will have a great lineup.

Cracknell and Tarasenko taking turns on the fourth line on the morning skate.

Tarasenko needs to be in the team tonight, but it will be incredibly unfair if Cracknell is the player who sits to make room for him. The fourth line has done their job.

I think Tarasenko should play. I think he should be inserted for McDonald or Stewart. Even if he cleans up ONE goalmouth scramble it could make the difference in this game. Tarasenko brings that element – finishing ability on a loose puck around the net – that has been missing. Tarasenko, if he plays, also needs to get PP time for this exact reason. Tell him, look, if you want to stay in the lineup going forward, pounce on these rebounds Quick is giving up and bury them.

Before the last game I had this crazy idea that Tarasenko would get in, that the series would tighten up, and that eventually he'd score some winning goal in OT in St. Louis and win the series, establishing his legend. "Remember when Tarasenko was healthy scratched and came off the bench to score in OT and get us by the Kings that year ... ?"

Tarasenko and Cracknell taking turns on fourth line with Porter and Reaves.
I understand fans have a fetish for hating McDonald right now but let's deal with reality. He was never going to come out the lineup.

I don't want to see Tarasenko on the 4th line though. I can see Hitch thinking that while in LA he can't get the matchups he wants so that line's effectiveness is lower, but I don't see Tarasenko helping the Blues by being on that line. If it's 4th line or out, I think he should be out. If he does sit out, Chris Stewart better be a difference maker in this game and the Blues better win.

Yes, Stewart was always the candidate for Tarasenko to replace. Not McDonald.

Stewart will get one more game to improve if not #91 is in for him come Game 5.

Tarasenko taking reps on the 4th line indicates he's probably out tonight.

If tank takes cracknell's spot, I will absolutely lose my mind. It wouldnt make sense in so many ways. Stewart needs to play Pissed off hockey if he's in the lineup
