Do you expect Boyle to sustain a 3% shooting percentage (career is 8.1%), or Asham to sustain a 14% (career is 11.0%)? When those shooting percentages revert to sustainable figures, Boyle will have a lot more goals.
One would hope... He gets more ice time and more shots, doesn't disprove the fact that Asham is a more opportunistic scorer. He gets more done with less chances.

I have no problem with Pyatt as a 4th liner if he's needed there. I said it when we signed him, he's not a 3rd liner. Almost everyone disagreed with me. (yes, that was a self-congratulatory pat on the back). I think most of us realize he's not a 3rd liner at this point.

The real problem I have with him is that everyone else that could potentially sit provides more. The options would be Boyle, Powe, Asham, Dorsett. Boyle and Powe provide penalty killing that he doesn't. Asham and Dorsett provide grit that he doesn't. They all provide about the same tiny amount of offense. I'd rather have any of those 4 guys in the lineup over Pyatt.

Sums up how I feel about him, I was hoping he'd provide a little more than he does, but thems the breaks. The others are better options not only for the reasons you listed but they're not painfully slow either.

Truth be told, aside from the idiotic elbowing penalty, I didn't realize Pyatt has played in games 1 & 2.

hasn't done anything to cement his spot in the line up.

Going by that one time I noticed him, I would take him out over Asham.

I noticed him when some laid out a nice hip check on him along the boards.

I noticed him every time he stepped on the ice, as I do every player, because I have observation skills. He said contemptuously.

Only time I noticed Pyatt was when he got drilled along the boards by a hip check. Asham should be in over him, no question.

I was really hoping that his line with Dorsett and Brassard would score a couple so we could call it the "Adolescence Line" or "High School Line" (#s 14,15,16)

McKenzie just tweeted that he doesn't "know" anything but "thinks" Staal will be in tonight.

I think Staal is in.

I would take Bobby Mac's tweet with a large grain of salt. He admits he doesn't know anything. It sounds like he just assumes it's going to be all hands on deck for the Rangers down 2 games in the series.

McKenzie tweeted that Staal is adapting to reduced vision. That really isnt a good sign for him.

Yeah, reduced vision is definately not good for a defenseman. Hopefully Torts eases him in instead of throwing him to the wolves.

So Clowe is back feels great no more Boyle on second line or Pyatt (why not scratched?) on PP.

And possibly Staal too, would be nice to see him back on the ice, however I think it's a mistake to play him if his vision is far from normal.

Adapting to reduced vision? Yikes...that cannot be good in any way.

Imagine if we get Clowe, Dorsett, Boyle and Staal back...

Nash-Stepan-Hagelin
Clowe-Richards-Zuccarello
Kreider-Brassard-Dorsett
Asham-Boyle-Powe/Pyatt

McDonagh-Girardi
Staal-Del Zotto
Moore-Stralman

Am I missing anyone?

Since Marc's vision in his right eye is damaged, I wonder if they'll consider making him a RD?

Interesting. Something I don't think they'd do with him coming back after missing so much time, but an interesting proposition for next year.

This is such a bad news for Marc that his vision is still not 100%.

Why didn't Stevie Wonder think of that?
