I would reluctantly trade Hodgson to improve the team.
I just don't see the Preds wanting to give up that pick for a player so close to UFA, let alone how expensive Vanek's contract is today.

Plus, what are the odds that Vanek will sign an extension there?

Too much one and done risk for the Preds to make that deal, IMO.

Honestly, I would be really happy if the Sabres got Domi with the Wild pick. I think he's going to be one of those mid to late 1st gems that works out a lot better than a boatload of guys that go before him.

If we go D at #8, I love Domi or Erne at #16....

Zadarov, especially for a big man, is surprisingly fast. Someone like Petan is super quick, but tiny. Shinkaruk has wheels. Erne and Duclair are both speedy. Lots of 'em.

Erne seems to be on the verge of falling out of the 1st round. I'd hate picking him at 16.

yea, same thing happened to Etem... people are stupid.

it would be great if the overblown hype about his benching (that never happened) pushed him to our 2nd round pick... I'd still take him at 16 on talent.

Would you hate taking him at 16, because of what others are saying... or because of how you view him?

Erne = Bobby Ryan without the hype

I wouldn't be surprised to see Domi go around 10-12. Not sure he'll be there at 16. Erne is one of a few prospects I'd be happy to grab there though.

Ryan had 89 points in 62 games in his draft year. Erne had 72 points in 68 games this year. That's a significant gap.

Last year Devine said they were "going to stay away from the Gerbes and Ennis f the world" I really hope this doesn't mean they won't consider a guy like Domi at 16 or possibly 8, I think based on talent and work ethic he could be a top 5 player from this draft year, being 5-9 hurts alittle bit though.

If you ask me who am I 100 percent sold on being a top 6 forward, MacKinnon, Drouin, Lindholm, Domi and Monahan are the guys that will reach that level imo.

He wouldn't want him at 16 because others have passed him most likely, I agree that he should be a 1st rounder though.

His numbers are very unimpressive aside from that hot streek in December or January

Skill-wise Erne is right in that mix.

which is why Ryan went #2, and Erne should go mid 1st

Stop rushing to a stat sheet every time you want to have an argument.

Erne plays a true power forward game

weird...
I love Domi... but "100% sold on being a top 6 NHL forward".... no... that's just a silly comment

Im sure he can speak for himself.

I was confused by the semantics of "seems to be falling out of the first"... which sounds like a reference to someone elses opinion

Erne is a top 10 forward in this draft... others passing him? That's scoresheet watching more than anything. Everyone is on the Mantha train this month.

You said he was Bobby Ryan without the hype. The only reason Bobby Ryan is important is because he scores 30 goals a year. Otherwise, he's just Marcus Foligno.

clairfying : Erne has a Bobby Ryan-esque ceiling

Im well aware of that... my response to Zip, to which you've chosen to respond, was whether his statement was based on OTHERS not believing he is a top forward... or whether it's specifically his opinion.

It was unclear to me... but thanks for jumping in, since you are being such a help in clearing up someone else's statement for me
