If it's Mikko Koivu you're talking about, he made his comeback today and had an assist as TPS beat Ässät 5-4 in overtime. Judging by the comments he looked a bit rusty, which is understandable as he's been away since November 17th.
Mikko will never become such a star like his brother. Never.
Wise words there! May Mikko Koivu burn in Hell for being the hyped brother of an NHL star and having a short temper on the ice! How dared he dominate the Junior A league at the age of 17 and get drafted 6th overall! May he join Olli Jokinen in the bust department!
Yes, though he needs to improve his skating and shooting skills in order to become one. I'm less concerned about his character because it seems to be very similar to Saku's - with that kind of an attitude you can't be a total bust. He's responsible defensively, plays physical and gives everything he has on the ice. If anything, Mikko MIGHT take things a bit too seriously at the moment and demand too much from himself.
But his confidence seems to be higher than last year so it's a good sign. Don't expect him to start dominate (point wise) in the spring though, 'cause his military service will begin in January and in an athlete's case it very often results in poorer performances.
According to their head coach and Mikko's father Jukka Koivu, it *shouldn't* be anything serious. But it wasn't supposed to be serious when Mikko injured his other shoulder earlier in the season, either. We'll see.
OK, good news for a change: Koivu came back today and had an assist as TPS became the first team this season to defeat Jokerit in Helsinki and took over the league lead for the first time. Quite a miracle considering they were at the very bottom of the league earlier in the season!
