This hitting is brutal. I know Young has no XBHs and DPs a lot, but at least he has an approach at the plate and doesn't just swing away. If we had to depend on him as a big bat we were in trouble anyway.

But holy jeez, is this painful. West coast road trips are always bad but this has the makings to be absolutely terrible.

This team makes no sense whatsoever. Get shutout by Slowey, score 5 runs against Left Hander with 1.50 ERA.

Totally predictable. Don't know how I did not see that one coming.

That's baseball for you. That's why you can't write off a team even if they look brutal. Sometimes things just click. That was a good game, hopefully they carry it forward and finish this west coast trip above a .500 clip.

Former Phillie JA Happ took a liner off the side of the head tonight against TB, and was carted off the field. Hope he's alright.

Looked really bad. I'll be keeping an eye on it. Poor Happ.

Also, Phillies will be starting Cloyd not Morgan on Friday. DIAF Ruben.

what are they 7 and 4 so far? one left against the giants and then a three or four game series against the d-backs. i think they have a decent shot at finishing over .500

Really good game by Kendrick last night! I really love beating the Giants, because I hate them and their fans so much.

The west coast trip? They're 2-0 lol, only the two games against the Giants. 1 more against SF and 4 in AZ. They struggle there.

Halladay has a bone spur in his shoulder that has caused a partial tear in the rotator cuff and some fraying of the labrum. He's gonna get surgery but he said he could be back this year. Guess that's the best news you could get. Never thought it would've been a bone spur. These things are such a pain in the ass.

How amazing would it be if he returned as a solid pitcher. He deserves to go out being at least a good pitcher, not a minor leaguer.

I think he can. He is his own worst enemy. Too hard a worker and too much pride to admit when he's hurting or tired.

He said it wasn't painful most of the time just that something seemed to be affecting his velocity and location. He built up so much muscle in that area thinking it was just something he could rehab that they couldn't even see the bone spur. Luckily it's a partial tear so they don't need to be as invasive with the surgery which is why there's a possibility he could come back this year. Good that he finally went back to look at it again cause if it had torn through his rotator cuff, he would've been completely screwed. 1 1/2 year minimum recovery time.

The biggest issue in the future I would think would be the spur could grow back, but I'm sure they'll take precautions for that. Hopefully when they go in there, it's just as they suspected and he will be able to be back by the end of the season. The doctor did say it could add another few years to his career so I'll remain optimistic for now. I mean, Utley came back from his leg bones being out of alignment to hitting 400 foot homers so anything is possible.

My opinion of KK was that he sucks, and he shouldnt he even be in the majors. That was probably true the first few years of his career here, but recently he has been great. Cant say enough good things about him right.

Oh well, after what I've seen this year, that series could've gone a lot worse. Play like that in Arizona and they may get out of this west coast trip alive.
